Starting Game 1 King will start Game 1 of Friday's doubleheader against the Orioles, Erik Boland of Newsday reports.

Impact The 25-year-old also started during a twin bill last weekend and gave up two runs on six hits and one walk over 3.2 innings. King has a 6.23 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 15:6 K:BB through 17.1 innings this season.

Candidate for rotation spot King was mentioned by Yankees manager Aaron Boone as a potential rotation replacement for James Paxton (forearm), Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Impact Paxton hit the 10-day injured list Friday and is expected to spend at least two weeks on the shelf, creating an opening in the team's rotation.
