Impact Chisholm remains in a walking boot as he recovers from turf toe, but perhaps he can gain clearance Wednesday to have the boot removed. The dynamic center fielder has been sidelined since mid-May, as he's a little more than three weeks into a projected 4-to-6 week timetable.

Tommy Nance - To resume throwing Nance (shoulder) will resume a throwing program this week, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
Impact Nance had to be pulled off a rehab assignment last month because of renewed soreness in his right shoulder, but he's ready to test things out again after a shutdown period. He'll need to re-start a rehab assignment once deemed game-ready, so he figures to be multiple weeks away.

Impact Cueto has been out since early May with a right biceps injury. It would appear he's not far off from a rehab assignment, although there's no timetable for the veteran right-hander's return at the moment.

Jorge Soler - Nursing sore thumb Soler is absent from the lineup Monday against the Royals due to a sore right thumb, Isaac Azout of SBNation.com reports.
Impact The ball struck Soler in the thumb as he swung and missed at strike three during a pinch-hitting appearance Sunday versus the Athletics, per Noah Berger of SBNation.com. X-rays came back clean and he should be fine, but he's still sore so he'll be out of the lineup for a second straight day. Garrett Cooper is in the designated hitter spot Monday.

Impact Davis will get his third straight start in center field after finishing the Marlins' weekend series with Oakland with a pair of doubles and two RBI. Though he appears to have supplanted Garrett Hampson as the Marlins' preferred option in center, both Davis and Hampson will likely see their opportunities dwindle when Jazz Chisholm (toe) likely returns from the injured list at some point this month.

Impact Hampson is on the bench for the third straight contest and appears to have been firmly displaced as the Marlins' primary center fielder in place of Jonathan Davis, at least for the time being. Both Davis and Hampson will likely see their playing time in the outfield take a more significant hit perhaps as soon as the upcoming weekend, when Jazz Chisholm (toe) is said to be targeting a return from the injured list. It's unclear how close Chisholm actually is to making that a reality, however.

Impact Segura will hit the bench after going 0-for-12 over his last four starts to drop his season-long batting average down to .191. Jon Berti will get the nod at third base Monday, and it wouldn't be surprising if he or Joey Wendle eventually supplanted Segura as the everyday option at the position for good.

Though Garrett Cooper is in the lineup as Miami's designated hitter in place of a resting Jorge Soler, Gurriel appears to have overtaken the slumping Cooper as Miami's primary first baseman.

Trevor Rogers - Excels in second rehab start Rogers (biceps) delivered five scoreless innings in his rehab start Sunday with Triple-A Jacksonville, striking out five while ceding just one hit and one walk.
Impact After striking out seven over four scoreless frames for Single-A Jupiter in his first rehab start last Tuesday, Rogers was similarly effective in his second outing while making a two-level jump in competition. The southpaw, who is building back up from a biceps strain that has kept him on the shelf since April 21, tossed 70 pitches (40 strikes) in Sunday's outing. Though Rogers appears to be stretched out enough to offer something close to a normal workload if he's cleared to make his next start with the big club, the Marlins could push his activation from the 15-day injured list back to next week while back-end rotation arms Edward Cabrera, Braxton Garrett and Eury Perez have all pitched effectively in their recent outings.

Jacob Stallings - Drives in run Sunday Stallings went 1-for-3 with an RBI in Sunday's win over the A's.
Impact His fourth-inning sacrifice fly helped the Marlins come back from an early 5-1 deficit. Stallings has split the workload behind the plate with Nick Fortes this season, seeing 99 plate appearances to Fortes' 125, but it's his glove that keeps him in the mix, not his bat. Stallings is slashing a putrid .161/.227/.218 with zero homers, seven runs and eight RBI.

Tanner Scott - Snags fourth win Scott (4-1) picked up the win in Sunday's victory over the A's, walking one batter in a scoreless eighth inning.
Impact The southpaw kept the game tied at 5-5 in the top of the eighth, and got rewarded when the Marlins took the lead in the bottom of the frame. Scott has reeled off 11 straight scoreless appearances, shaving nearly two runs off his ERA in the process, and on the season he sports a 3.21 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 39:15 K:BB through 28 innings. He also has nine holds and two saves in addition to his wins, and with A.J. Puk (elbow) closing in on his return, Scott figures to remain in a setup role.

Impact While the right-hander remains prone to implosions -- he's given up three or more runs in four of his 26 appearances this season, leading to a 4.32 ERA -- Floro is a perfect 5-for-5 in converting save chances since A.J. Puk (elbow) hit the IL. Puk was able to pitch on back-to-back days Friday and Saturday on his rehab assignment, however, which the organization viewed as the final hurdle before his activation, so Floro could be returning to a setup role very shortly.

Impact Gurriel's leadoff triple in the fourth inning was his third three-bagger this year, setting a new career high in his age-39 season. He's gone 6-for-13 in his last three games following an 0-for-13 slump. Gurriel's now slashing .291/.350/.440 with three homers, 15 runs scored, 13 RBI and three stolen bases through 157 at-bats in his first season with Miami.
