Impact After completing a bullpen session Tuesday without incident, Scherzer did some lighter throwing Wednesday while testing his right hamstring out during fielding drills. He seemingly came out of the workout no worse for the wear, putting him in line to start the Mets' second game of the season Friday. Manager Buck Showalter has already named Tylor Megill the Mets' starter for Thursday's season opener in Washington, but with rain in the forecast that day in the D.C. area, the threat of postponement looms. If the game is cancelled, Scherzer could end up getting the Opening Day nod Friday after all, as Megill might be moved to the back of the pitching schedule in that scenario.
