Claimed by Miami Miami claimed Moore off waivers from the Guardians on Tuesday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

Impact Moore will not be eligible for the playoffs given where this move falls on the baseball calendar, but he can give the Marlins' bullpen a boost over what remains of the regular season as they try to nail down a National League Wild Card spot. The veteran left-hander has registered a strong 2.77 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 57:14 K:BB in 48.2 innings of relief this year between Anaheim and Cleveland.

Moore, 34, carries a 2.30 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 47:12 K:BB through 43 innings this year and should be of interest as a bullpen addition for just about any contending club.

Impact Manager Phil Nevin indicated the soreness isn't believed to be a setback, though it's certainly not an encouraging sign with the lefty closing in on his return from the injured list. Moore isn't throwing Sunday and will be re-evaluated Monday before the next steps in his rehab are determined.

Impact Moore threw a bullpen before Saturday's game against the Rockies, and he told reporters it went "ok" but not well enough to come off the 15-day IL come Monday. The left-hander said he needs at least one more session, and when that will come will be determined by how he feels Sunday. Once active, Moore should be a high-leverage option for the Angels' bullpen again.

Impact Moore has been on the shelf since the end of May with a Grade 2 oblique strain. It appears the southpaw has a chance to return to the Los Angeles relief staff without a rehab stint, but that likely will be determined by how the simulated action over the weekend goes. One way or another, Moore should be pitching in the late innings for the Angels by the end of June.
