Impact Church dealt with lat issues for a large portion of the 2025 campaign, as well. The expectation is that he will be ready to throw off a mound again sometime in March, but Church's status for Opening Day is uncertain. Church has some of the best upside out of anyone in the Rangers' shaky bullpen, but he'll have to get healthy first.

Impact Church has spent most of this season at Round Rock and had struggled this month before getting hurt, yielding six runs with a 4:9 K:BB over 4.2 innings. The Rangers are still evaluating the reliever's injury before mapping out a rehab plan.

Impact It was reported April 22 that he would be shut down for 7-to-10 days. Church was optioned to Triple-A on April 16 after walking more batters (six) than he struck out (five) in 4.2 innings with the big club. The 24-year-old relief pitching prospect showed roughly the same velocity on his pitches as in 2024, using his 87-mph slider slightly more than his 96-mph fastball. He still has a chance to figure into the late innings in a year or two.

Recalled by Texas The Rangers recalled Church from Triple-A Round Rock on Friday.

Impact Church will have an opportunity to make his MLB debut out of the Rangers' bullpen this weekend against the Angels. The 23-year-old right-hander battled through a right shoulder strain for much of the season, but he returned from Round Rock's 60-day injured list in mid-August. In his 11 Triple-A outings since being reinstated from the IL, Church posted a 2.87 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 19:4 K:BB over 15.2 innings.

Impact Church registered a 3.63 ERA and 79:38 K:BB over 62 innings this past season between Double-A Frisco and Triple-A Round Rock. The 22-year-old relief prospect is now protected from next month's Rule 5 Draft and could make his major-league debut at some point in 2024.
