INJURIES

Fans 10 in sixth loss Gore (4-6) took the loss Monday, allowing four runs on four hits and two walks over seven innings against Minnesota. He struck out 10.
Impact Gore struggled out of the gate, surrendering a three-run homer to Josh Bell in the first inning, but he was able to settle in and allow just one more run across the next six frames. The southpaw's 10 strikeouts marked a season high after he had previously topped out at nine punchouts on two occasions. Gore will carry a 4.27 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 86:35 K:BB across 78 innings (15 starts) into his next outing, tentatively scheduled for Sunday against San Diego.

Fans six in no-decision Gore did not factor into the decision Wednesday against the Royals, allowing two runs on eight hits and three walks while striking out six over five innings
Impact Gore spent much of the afternoon pitching with traffic on the bases, allowing multiple baserunners in all but one inning. The left-hander easily could have been tagged for a much worse line, but he repeatedly worked out of trouble and stranded four runners in scoring position across his five innings of work. While the run prevention was solid, the amount of contact remains a concern, as Gore has now allowed 17 hits total in his last two starts. The 27-year-old has pitched well overall since May 12, posting a 2.90 ERA during that stretch. Gore now owns a 4.18 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 76:33 K:BB across 71 innings and is lined up to face the Twins at home in his next start.

Lasts 4.2 innings in loss Gore (4-5) was tagged with the loss Wednesday against the Cardinals after allowing four runs on nine hits and three walks across 4.2 innings. He struck out five.
Impact Gore was coming off back-to-back quality starts against the Angels and Royals, allowing just one run over 12.1 innings in that span, but he couldn't keep that streak going and didn't even finish the fifth inning this time. The four runs allowed were the most Gore had allowed in a game since May 7, when he gave up five runs in a loss to the Yankees. Owning a 2.77 ERA and 1.12 WHIP over his last five starts, Gore will aim to bounce back in his next outing, scheduled for next week on the road against the Royals.

Tosses 6.1 scoreless frames Friday Gore (4-4) earned the win Friday against the Royals after tossing 6.1 scoreless innings. He allowed four hits and a walk while striking out three.
Impact Gore's strikeout numbers are trending in the wrong direction, as he's fanned three or fewer in four of his last six starts, but he has the stuff to improve in that regard as the season goes on. Gore has been on a tear of late and has given up one run or fewer while pitching at least six frames in three of his last four outings. In six May appearances, Gore owns a 3.56 ERA and a 1.06 WHIP across 30.1 innings. He should make his next start against the Cardinals on the road next week.

Fans seven in no-decision Gore did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing one run on a hit and two walks over six innings against the Angels. He struck out seven.
Impact Gore was stellar on the mound, allowing just three Angels to reach base as part of a superb pitcher's duel with Reid Detmers. It was an incredibly encouraging outing for Gore, particularly considering he was pulled after just one inning in his previous start due to left lat tightness. It has been an up-and-down start to the 27-year-old's first season with the Rangers, as he owns a 4.42 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 62:26 K:BB across 55 innings (11 starts). Gore is tentatively slated to make his next start Friday against the Royals.

Ready to start Sunday Gore (lat) will start Sunday's series finale versus the Angels in Anaheim, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Impact Gore looked to be at risk of landing on the injured list after he lasted just one inning in Monday's 7-6 loss to the Rockies before leaving due to left lat tightness, but an MRI cleared him of any major damage. The southpaw was able to play catch a few days later and appears to have checked out fine, setting the stage for him to return to the hill on five days' rest. The Rangers may look to keep Gore's workload in check Sunday as a matter of caution, though manager Skip Schumaker hasn't explicitly said that the 27-year-old will be on a limited pitch count.

Plays catch Friday Gore (lat) played catch Friday and will be re-evaluated this weekend, MLB.com reports.
Impact All signs are pointing to Gore being ready for his next turn in the rotation scheduled for Sunday against the Angels. The left-hander, who exited a start Monday, underwent an MRI which came negative.

On track to make next start An MRI on Gore's left lat came back negative, and he is on track to make his next scheduled start Sunday versus the Angels, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Impact Gore was removed from his start Monday against the Rockies after his lat tightened up on him, but he has managed to avoid a major injury and is trending toward not missing a turn in the rotation. The left-hander has had an up-and-down first 10 starts for the Rangers, collecting a 4.78 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 55:24 K:BB over 49 innings.
MAY 20 • ROTOWIRE
Headed for imaging Tuesday Rangers manager Skip Schumaker said that Gore will most likely undergo an MRI on Tuesday after exiting Monday's 7-6 loss to the Rockies after one inning due to left lat tightness,...
Impact After the game, Gore described his early exit as precautionary, noting that he felt a cramp behind his shoulder blade that had been presenting some discomfort. Gore was charged with two runs on three hits and two walks during the 28-pitch inning, and both his fastball and sinker velocities were down just over a mile per hour from their season averages. The upcoming imaging should shed more light on the severity of Gore's injury, but the Rangers aren't yet ruling the southpaw out from making his next turn through the rotation, which would fall Sunday in Anaheim.

Impact Gore dove for a slow grounder to the third-base side in his lone inning of work and appeared to be shaken up on the play, though it's not yet clear if his dive caused the injury. Last Night in Baseball: Giants Beat Dodgers in Back-to-Back Games
Shines with eight strong innings Gore (3-3) earned the win over Arizona on Tuesday, allowing one run on three hits and one walk while striking out five batters over eight innings.
Impact Gore served up a solo homer in the second inning, but that was the only time the Diamondbacks put a run on board against him. The lefty's eight frames were a season high -- he previously hadn't gone more than six innings -- and he needed an efficient 95 pitches to go that deep. Gore had pitched to a poor 7.58 ERA over his previous four starts coming into Tuesday, so this was a much-needed turnaround. He's slated for a road tilt in the Colorado altitude his next time out.
