INJURIES

Can't shake control issues in loss Gore (2-3) took the loss Thursday against the Yankees, allowing five runs on six hits and three walks in 5.1 innings. He struck out three.
Impact The 27-year-old left-hander struggled with hard contact Thursday, giving up four extra-base hits (two triples). Gore also continued to have major problems with his control, issuing at least three passes in his fifth start already this year. He's been a pretty big disappointment to begin his Rangers career, posting a 5.18 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 48:21 K:BB across 40 innings, so Gore will be looking to right the ship in his next scheduled outing versus Arizona.

Early exit in no-decision Gore didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 5-4 win over the Tigers, giving up three runs on four hits and three walks over 3.2 innings. He struck out three.
Impact The southpaw actually no-hit Detroit through three scoreless innings, but Tigers hitters drove up Gore's pitch count -- 25 of his 55 strikes on the night came from foul balls -- and he ran out of gas in the fourth, getting lifted after 94 total pitches. It's another disappointing outing from the Rangers' big offseason pitching acquisition, who hasn't been able to complete more than five frames in any of his last five trips to the mound. Gore will take a 4.67 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 45:18 K:BB through 34.2 innings into his next start, which lines up to come on the road next week in Yankee Stadium.

Mixed results in no-decision Gore did not factor into the decision in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Athletics, allowing three runs on six hits and three walks with seven strikeouts over five innings.
Impact Gore allowed three runs across the second and third innings, throwing 72 of a season-high 106 pitches for strikes with 14 whiffs. The 27-year-old has now yielded 10 earned runs across his past three starts, and he's failed to exceed five frames in four straight outings. He owns a 4.35 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 42:15 K:BB across 31 innings and lines up for a road matchup against the Tigers next weekend.

Yields three homers in loss Gore (2-2) allowed five runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out five over five innings to take the loss Sunday versus the Mariners.
Impact Gore's control issues from his previous outing didn't return in this one, as he threw 61 of 90 pitches for strikes. However, the Mariners were able to tee off against him, beginning with Rob Refsnyder's solo shot to open the bottom of the first. J.P. Crawford and Randy Arozarena also had two-run blasts in the game, giving Gore his worst outing of the season in terms of runs allowed. The southpaw has been passable to open his Rangers tenure, posting a 4.15 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 35:12 K:BB over 26 innings across his first five starts with his new team. The strikeout upside is there, but Gore's also carried a high walk rate often, and that hasn't changed with a 4.2 BB/9 this season. His next start is projected to be at home versus the Athletics.

Battles control in loss Gore (2-1) took the loss against the Athletics on Tuesday, allowing two runs on three hits and six walks while striking out five batters over 4.2 innings.
Impact It's somewhat impressive that Gore was able to emerge with just two runs allowed on his stat line given the six walks. The Rangers left six of the batters who reached against the lefty on base, but the two runs they scored against him were enough to get the victory. Gore hadn't previously had control problems this season -- he allowed a tolerable five walks over 16.1 innings across his first three starts -- but he did struggle with walks during the second half of last year, so it's something to keep an eye on. His overall 3.00 ERA and 30:11 K:BB through 21 frames to begin the campaign remain promising.

Dominant in second win Gore (2-0) earned the win Wednesday over the Mariners, allowing just one hit and two walks over five scoreless innings. He struck out nine.
Impact Gore turned in his best outing of the young season Wednesday, as he mowed through the Seattle lineup before leaving the game after five innings and 82 pitches. Through three starts with Texas, Gore's ERA sits at 2.76 with an impressive 0.86 WHIP and 25:5 K:BB across 16.1 innings. The left-hander is currently lined up to face the A's on the road his next time out.

Strikes out nine in no-decision Gore did not factor into the decision in Friday's 5-3 loss to the Reds, allowing three runs on six hits and no walks with nine strikeouts over six innings.
Impact Gore surrendered all three runs via the long ball but still turned in his first quality start in a Rangers uniform. The southpaw threw 57 of 88 pitches for strikes and generated 13 whiffs in a second straight solid outing with his new club. He's allowed five earned runs through 11.1 innings with a 16:3 K:BB and lines up for a home matchup against the Mariners next week.

Earns win in Rangers debut Gore (1-0) earned the win Sunday over the Phillies, allowing two runs on two hits and three walks across 5.1 innings. He struck out seven.
Impact It was an impressive debut for Gore, who held the Phillies hitless through his first five innings before he was charged with a pair of runs in the sixth after allowing two singles and a walk. Despite the rocky finish, it was an encouraging showing from the left-hander, who posted a 4.17 ERA with a 1.35 WHIP and 185:64 K:BB across 30 starts (159.2 innings) in an up-and-down 2025 campaign with the Nationals. Gore is tentatively lined up to face the Reds at home in his next outing.

Pitches into fifth inning Gore allowed two hits and three walks while striking out three over 4.1 scoreless innings. He also hit a batter.
Impact Gore followed up his worst Cactus League start with his best one Monday. After allowing seven runs, six hits and three walks over 1.2 innings in his previous outing, the left-hander was sharper the fourth time out. "The ball was coming out great," Gore told Kane McCutcheon of Yahoo! Sports after the start. "We're close, I thought probably the last time out we were much better in terms of crispness and location of everything." Gore is ramping up for his first season for Texas since being acquired in January.

Better in second start Gore allowed three hits and struck out one over three scoreless innings in Friday's spring start against the White Sox.
Impact After allowing two runs and three hits over 1.2 innings in his Cactus League debut, Gore was better his second time out, throwing 38 pitches (27 strikes). The lefty also took a comebacker off his leg but gathered the ball and got the out. Texas trainers paid him a visit, but Gore stayed in the game, per Matt Postins of SI.com. Gore is expected to serve as the third or fourth starter in the Rangers' rotation.
