Hand X-rays come back negative Robert was diagnosed with right hand soreness after X-rays on his right hand came back negative.

Impact The 23-year-old suffered the injury on a dive attempt during the seventh inning, but it appears he avoided a serious injury. Robert should be considered day-to-day and could receive a day or two off to recover if the White Sox opt to exercise some caution.

Exits after dive attempt Robert was removed from Tuesday's game against the Tigers with an apparent injury, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.

Impact The rookie outfielder attempted a diving catch during the seventh inning, and he was replaced by Luis Gonzalez in center field for the start of the following inning. Robert may have suffered a hand injury on the dive, but the team has yet to officially disclose the injury.

Slugs third homer Robert went 2-for-5 with a walk, double and a solo home run across both games of the team's doubleheader against the Cardinals on Saturday.

Impact Robert collected his sixth double of the season in the final frame of the first contest. However, he waited until the second game to go yard, taking Jake Woodford deep in the third inning for his third home run of the season. Robert hadn't homered in his last 12 games and had hit just .200/.289/.250 while striking out 38 percent of the time entering Saturday's contests. Even so, Robert has maintained a .282/.341/.474 line with 11 runs scored, 10 RBI and four stolen bases across 85 plate appearances this season.

Impact Even though Robert slashed .357/.455/.536 in seven games in the leadoff spot, Renteria noticed some issues the rookie was having. Opposing pitchers have been feeding him a steady diet of sliders since the start of the season, and Robert has been adjusting but still chases. Apparently, there were a few at-bats recently that prompted Renteria to drop him back to seventh in the order. "There are a couple of at-bats where he walked away from that box kind of scratching his head, going, 'Man, what just happened there?' '' Renteria said. ''I know I'm not the only one who sees that. He's still learning; he's still young.'' That's the reason why Renteria held Robert out of the starting lineup Monday.
