Kenley Jansen - Picks up one-out win over former club Jansen (4-5) recorded the win in Saturday's 2-1 victory over the Dodgers, retiring the only batter he faced.
Impact The Tigers closer was brought in to get the final out in the top of the ninth inning with a runner on base and barely escaped, as Teoscar Hernandez drove a cutter into the left-center field gap that Javier Baez was just able to track down. Baez then doubled to lead off the bottom of the frame and came around to score the winning run, handing Jansen his third win since the All-Star break. In 12 innings over that stretch, Jansen has converted six of seven save chances with a 3.00 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 16:7 K:BB.

Keider Montero - Stingy in Saturday's no-decision Montero didn't factor into the decision in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Dodgers, allowing one run on four hits and one walk over 5.1 innings. He struck out three.
Impact The right-hander tossed 50 of 73 pitches for strikes but fell short of recording his 10th quality start of the season, and the Tigers didn't push across the winning run until the bottom of the ninth. Montero wraps up August having posted a 2.83 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 13:8 K:BB over five starts and 28.2 innings, and his spot in the rotation should be secure even when Jack Flaherty (forearm) is cleared to return. Montero will look to get back in the win column in his next outing, which is set to come on the road next weekend in Cleveland.

Impact It's the second time in four starts since coming off the IL that Snell has racked up double-digit strikeouts. The southpaw has been in Cy Young form since returning from a three-month absence after undergoing a NanoScope procedure to remove loose bodies from his elbow, giving up just three runs over 23 innings with a 31:10 K:BB. Snell will look to keep rolling in his next outing, which lines up to come at home next weekend against the Nationals.
