Tristan Peters - Spoils Yamamoto's no-hit bid Peters went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in a loss to the Dodgers on Saturday.

Impact Los Angeles ace Yoshinobu Yamamoto entered the bottom of the ninth inning working on a no-hitter, but Peters ended the hurler's chance at history by clubbing a leadoff homer to right field. That was Peters' first long ball in 22 contests, though he's batting a robust .369 with 11 doubles during that span. The hot spell has brought Peters' season slash line up to a very strong .299/.358/.460 and has helped him cement his role as Chicago's near-every center fielder.

Mookie Betts - Knocks three hits Saturday Betts went 3-for-5 three runs scored against the White Sox in a 7-1 win Saturday.

Impact Betts' most-remembered moment Saturday will likely be the error he committed at shortstop in the eighth inning to end Yoshinobu Yamamoto's bid for a perfect game, but the veteran infielder also had a nice performance at the plate. He scored three of Los Angeles' seven runs and recorded his third three-hit game of the campaign. It's been a rough season at the plate for Betts, and he's still trying to claw his way back up to the Mendoza Line, as he's currently slashing just .196/.261/.350. However, despite Saturday's fielding miscue, he's committed just two errors through 36 contests and hasn't struggled making contact, striking out just 19 times across 157 plate appearances.

Shohei Ohtani - Goes deep in return Ohtani went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, three walks and two total runs scored in Saturday's 7-1 win over the White Sox.

Impact Ohtani sat out Friday after departing Thursday's matchup against Pittsburgh with left knee inflammation, but he was back in the lineup as the DH on Saturday. The superstar slugger wasted little time showing that he's feeling fine, belting the second pitch of the game over the right-field fence for a home run. Ohtani has gone deep in three straight games and has been red hot at the plate throughout June, batting .436 with four home runs, 10 RBI, 13 runs and a 10:9 BB:K through 10 contests. After a relatively slow start to the season as a hitter, Ohtani is now slashing an impressive .305/.426/.553 with 14 home runs, 41 RBI, 50 runs and six steals through 68 plate appearances on the campaign.

Max Muncy - Clubs two homers in victory Muncy went 3-for-3 with two home runs, four total RBI and two walks in a 7-1 win against the White Sox on Saturday.

Impact Chicago's pitching staff was unable to get Muncy out Saturday, as the slugger reached base in all five of his plate appearances and launched two long balls. Muncy came into the contest without a homer through 11 contests in June, though he batted a healthy .286 during that span. The 35-year-old is putting together a strong case for an All-Star bid; among NL third basemen, he ranks first with a .912 OPS, .375 OBP, 46 runs and 16 homers while adding 28 RBI through 65 games.

Sean Burke - Wild in loss Saturday Burke (3-4) took the loss against the Dodgers on Saturday, allowing four runs on six hits and five walks while striking out six batters over four innings.

Impact After working behind an opener in his previous appearance last Saturday, Burke went back to a starting role against Los Angeles. That didn't work out for the White Sox, as the right-hander yielded three runs on a pair of homers in the first inning and four runs overall across four frames. Burke really struggled with his control, throwing just 49 of 92 pitches for strikes and tying a season-worst mark with five free passes. He had previously posted that mark in that bulk-relief appearance just last Saturday, so Burke has really struggled to throw strikes of late, though he's also punched out at least six batters in four straight outings. He'll look to get back on track in his next start, which is scheduled to take place in Detroit.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto - Teases perfect game in victory Yamamoto (7-4) earned the win over the White Sox on Saturday, allowing one run on one hit and no walks while striking out seven batters over 8.1 innings.

Impact Yamamoto was nearly untouchable Saturday, and he didn't allow a baserunner until Mookie Betts committed an error on a grounder with two outs in the eighth inning. The right-handed hurler still had a chance at a no-hitter, but that ended when Tristan Peters clubbed a solo shot leading off the bottom of the ninth. Though he had to settle for a dominant victory, Yamamoto did end up in the Dodgers' history book by retiring 45 consecutive batters dating back to his previous start -- a run exceeded in MLB history only by Yusmeiro Petit, who set down 46 straight hitters for the Giants in 2014. Yamamoto also recorded his fourth consecutive victory, and he hasn't allowed more than one run in five straight starts. On the season, the reigning World Series MVP has a standout 2.52 ERA, 0.84 WHIP and 80:15 K:BB over 85.2 innings spanning 13 starts.
