Connor Overton - Contract selected Wednesday Overton's contract was selected by the Blue Jays on Wednesday.
Impact Overton joined the Blue Jays on a minor-league deal in February, and he put up a career-best 2.03 ERA and 1.08 WHIP in 57.2 innings across 21 appearances (seven starts) at Triple-A Buffalo. The right-hander will be available to make his major-league debut out of the bullpen as early as Wednesday against the Angels.

Patrick Murphy - Designated for assignment Murphy was designated for assignment by the Blue Jays on Wednesday.
Impact Murphy had tossed four scoreless innings across three relief appearances in the majors since the start of July, but he'll still be cast off the 40-man roster. The 26-year-old has a strong chance to remain in the organization if he goes unclaimed on waivers, but right-hander Trent Thornton will take his place in the bullpen.

Impact Thornton served as the 27th man in Tuesday's doubleheader, and he'll remain in the bullpen after he allowed a run on a hit and no walks in one relief inning Wednesday. Right-hander Patrick Murphy was designated for assignment as part of a move to make room for Thornton.

Ross Stripling - Placed on 10-day IL Stripling was placed on the 10-day injured list with a left oblique strain Wednesday.
Impact Stripling's move to the injured list was expected after he exited the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Angels due to the injury. Manager Charlie Montoyo didn't provide a timetable for the right-hander's return, but Steven Matz appears to be in line to continue serving as the No. 5 starter.
