Impact Woodford lost his rotation spot Thursday and is now also off the active 26-man roster as he works through a bout of shoulder trouble. The 26-year-old right-hander leaves behind a 5.40 ERA, 1.70 WHIP and 18:11 K:BB through 30 innings of work this season for St. Louis.

Tyler O'Neill - Goes on IL with back strain O'Neill was placed on the 10-day injured list Friday with a lower back strain, John Denton of MLB.com reports.
Impact Juan Yepez will join the Cardinals in a corresponding move to provide depth in the corner outfield. O'Neill, who's dealt with a range of different injuries throughout his pro career, was slashing just .228/.283/.337 with two home runs and one stolen base through 29 games (99 plate appearances) this season. He figures to head out on a minor-league rehab assignment before returning to the active roster. There's no real timetable yet.

Taylor Ward - Beginning to heat up Ward went 3-for-4 with a double, a run and an RBI in Thursday's 11-7 victory versus the Cardinals.
Impact Ward led the charge near the bottom of the order, as each of the Angels' No. 6, 7 and 8 batters tallied three hits. Ward added a sacrifice fly to his productive day, and his ninth-inning double was his first in over two weeks. The outfielder went through a 1-for-14 stretch between April 26 and April 29, but he's since bounced back by going 6-for-12 with a homer, a walk and four RBI over his subsequent four contests.
