Andrew Benintendi - Takes swings in batting cage White Sox manager Will Venable said that Benintendi (hand) took swings in the batting cage Thursday and "felt really good," Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Impact Benintendi was cleared to hit after he had a scan on his fractured right hand earlier this week that returned good results. Venable didn't rule Benintendi out for Opening Day, and while it seems unlikely the outfielder will be ready by then, the skipper added of Benintendi that "we feel confident that he's in a good spot to progress." When healthy, Benintendi projects as Chicago's everyday left fielder.

Edgar Quero - Not seeing any action this spring Quero has yet to make a start for the White Sox this spring.
Impact Quero came into camp seemingly with a shot to emerge with a spot on the Opening Day roster, but his lack of usage suggests that's not going to happen. The 21-year-old has appeared in eight games off the bench this spring, going 4-for-14 with a 2:1 K:BB. Quero appears likely to open the season alongside fellow catching prospect Kyle Teel at Triple-A Charlotte, where the duo would split playing time.

Kyle Teel - Slugging this spring Teel is 5-for-15 with two home runs and a 4:3 K:BB this spring.
Impact Teel came into White Sox camp seemingly as a long shot to make the team, and that probably remains the case given that he's made just two starts (and just one at catcher). However, he's undoubtedly made a good first impression after landing with Chicago this offseason in the trade that sent Garrett Crochet to the Red Sox. Fellow catching prospect Edgar Quero has not made a single start this spring. The White Sox seem likely to go with a Korey Lee/Matt Thaiss combo behind the plate to open the season, although non-roster invitee Omar Narvaez is also in the mix.

Chase Meidroth - Hitting leadoff regularly of late Meidroth has started at shortstop and batted leadoff in two straight Cactus League games for the White Sox and hit leadoff in all six of his starts in March.
Impact Meidroth missed some time this month with a calf issue but has been getting a long look in the leadoff spot when on the field. The 23-year-old's on-base skills are his best asset, as he boasted a 71:105 K:BB and .437 on-base percentage at Triple-A Worcester in 2024, making him a sensible fit for the leadoff spot. Meidroth also might be emerging as the favorite to start at shortstop for the White Sox, as Colson Montgomery is now in minor-league camp and Brooks Baldwin has been playing more second base and even center field.
