Merrill Kelly - Awaiting MRI results Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said Monday that the team is still waiting for MRI results on Kelly's back, Jose M. Romero of The Arizona Republic reports.
Impact Kelly had to be scratched from a scheduled live batting practice session over the weekend due to mid-back tightness. Lovullo noted Monday that Kelly feels good, but there will be more known about his condition after the test results come back. Consider the veteran right-hander day-to-day for the time being.

Juan Burgos - Slated for spring debut Burgos (forearm) is scheduled to make a relief appearance in Monday's Cactus League game against the Guardians, Jack Sommers of SI.com reports.
Impact Burgos is healthy again and preparing to compete for a spot in the Diamondbacks' Opening Day bullpen after he closed the past season on the injured list due to a right forearm contusion. The 25-year-old reached the big leagues for the first time in 2025, making 13 appearances between stops with Seattle and Arizona and producing a 6.08 ERA and 1.88 WHIP over 13.1 innings.

Kohl Drake - Makes spring debut Drake (shoulder) struck out two and allowed an earned run on no hits and two walks over two innings in Sunday's 10-9 loss to the Angels in Cactus League play.
Impact Drake missed the final month of the 2025 campaign due to a left shoulder strain, but he appears to have had a normal offseason and was cleared to start the Diamondbacks' third game of the Cactus League slate. Arizona protected Drake from the Rule 5 Draft over the winter and added him to the 40-man roster, potentially setting the stage for him to make his MLB debut at some point later this season. He's expected to open the season in the rotation at Triple-A Reno.

Nick Madrigal - Competing for utility job in camp Madrigal (shoulder) is listed as an available bench bat Monday in the Angels' Cactus League game against the Rangers, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
Impact After missing the entire 2025 season while recovering from February surgery to repair a fractured left shoulder, Madrigal doesn't appear to be facing any restrictions in spring training. He came off the bench to play second base in the Angels' spring opener Saturday against the Dodgers, recording a base hit and a walk in his two plate appearances. Madrigal could also get some exposure to third base in the spring as he looks to display versatility in his bid to win a utility role with the Angels, but he'll still be facing an uphill battle to crack the Opening Day roster.
