Patrick Sandoval - Walks six in loss Sandoval (6-9) yielded five runs (four earned) on four hits and six walks over 2.2 innings Monday, striking out six and taking a loss against the Rangers.
Impact Sandoval allowed two runs in the second inning followed by three more in the third and struggled with his command all night. He gave up two or fewer runs in five straight starts before Monday's hiccup. His ERA climbed to 4.09 with a lackluster 98:52 K:BB through 112.1 frames. Sandoval is currently lined up to face the Reds at home in his next outing.

Griffin Canning - Yields four runs Canning allowed four runs on six hits and a walk over 3.2 innings in Monday's loss to Texas. He struck out five and did not factor in the decision.
Impact Canning was reinstated from the injured list Sunday and made his first appearance since July 25. He entered the game in relief of Patrick Sandoval and retired seven of the first nine batters he faced. Canning will likely move back into the rotation but it's unclear when he'll make his next appearance. He's sporting a 4.69 ERA with a 96:26 K:BB through 88.1 frames.

C.J. Cron - Remains out of lineup Cron (back) is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Rangers, according to Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register.
Impact Cron will work as a reserve for the second time in as many days due to the sore back he is dealing with. He was able to pinch hit Sunday, so he might not be out of the lineup much longer.

Shohei Ohtani - Crushes HR No. 41 Ohtani went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a stolen base in Sunday's win over the Astros.
Impact Ohtani absolutely smoked a slider that wound up traveling 448 feet at 110.2 MPH and put the Angels up 2-0 in the sixth. It wound up being the difference in the ballgame. He also swiped his 17th bag of the year and his fifth already in 12 games in August. Ohtani leads the American League with 41 home runs now and trails only the surging Matt Olson for the league lead (43). Ohtani has been scorching hot at the plate over the last few weeks. In 17 games since July 27, he's slashing .368/.500/.702 with five homers, seven RBI, 14 runs and a 1.202 OPS. He continues to make a strong case for the American League MVP though the Angels remain on the outside looking in for the Wild Card picture.

Carlos Estévez - Puts away Astros Sunday Estevez struck out two during a 1-2-3 ninth inning Sunday to slam the door on the Astros and pick up his 25th save of the year.
Impact Estevez locked down his second save of the week and needed just 12 pitches to send the Astros down in order. He struck out Grae Kessinger and Yainer Diaz before getting Jose Altuve to fly out to end the game. The 30-year-old seems to be getting back on track after some of rough showings over the past few weeks. Estevez now holds a 3.42 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 58:27 K:BB in 47.1 innings.

Chase Silseth - Throws five scoreless Silseth (4-1) tossed five scoreless innings to earn the win over the Astros on Sunday. He allowed just four hits and two walks while striking out five.
Impact Silseth continued his run of dominance since being recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake July 19. He's made four starts all against teams currently over .500 and holds a 1.59 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 31:5 K:BB in 22.2 innings. The one negative is that manager Phil Nevin has allowed Silseth to throw more then 85 pitches just once over that span and therefore he's only reached six innings once. The Angels just returned Griffin Canning from the injured list Sunday, which congests the rotation; however, it seems safe to say Silseth's starting spot is secure for now given the season-long struggles for Tyler Anderson and the recent struggles for Reid Detmers.
