Hit hard Tuesday
Webb allowed four runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out four over four innings. He did not factor into the decision during Tuesday's 10-7 win over the Phillies.
Impact
Webb got himself out of early trouble in the first after getting Brad Miller to ground into an inning-ending 4-6-3 double play with the bases loaded. He wasn't so fortunate in the following innings, as he allowed an RBI double to Nick Maton in the second and a three-run homer to Miller later in the third. The 24-year-old left-hander has had trouble in all three of his starts thus far, combining to give up 10 runs, 22 hits, seven walks and three home runs over 14.1 innings. The Giants will likely need one more start from him, which is scheduled to be Sunday against the Marlins, while Johnny Cueto (lat) remains on the 10-day injured list

Returns for scheduled start
Webb was activated from the COVID-19 injured list ahead of his scheduled start Tuesday against the Phillies.
Impact
Webb spent the last two days on the COVID-19 injured list while recovering from the side effects of the coronavirus vaccine. He's now ready to make his third start of the season, having posted a 4.76 ERA and 1.76 WHIP across two starts and one relief appearance.

On track for Tuesday's start
Giants manager Gabe Kapler said he expects Webb (COVID-19 injured list) will be ready to make his next scheduled turn through the rotation Tuesday in Philadelphia, Andrew Baggarly...
Impact
Webb was placed on the IL earlier Sunday as a precaution while he continues to experience lingering effects from the second COVID-19 vaccine shot he recently received. San Francisco is still listing Webb as its probable starter for Tuesday, so fantasy managers can probably count on him being ready to go for what's shaping up to be a two-start week. After Tuesday, Webb would line up to make a second start next Sunday versus the Marlins.

On mend from vaccine shot
The Giants clarified that Webb was placed on the injured list Sunday due to lingering effects from the second COVID-19 vaccine shot he recently received, Mark W. Sanchez of KNBR 68...
Impact
San Francisco is optimistic that Webb will be feeling closer to 100 percent within one or two days, and he'll be eligible to come off the IL at any point the Giants deem him ready to go. Assuming that's the case, Webb should still be on track to start Tuesday's game in Philadelphia, where he'll be stepping into the rotation as a replacement for the injured Johnny Cueto (lat).

Heads to IL
The Giants placed Webb on the injured list Sunday due to an unspecified issue.
Impact
San Francisco provided no explanation for why Webb and McGee were placed on the IL, perhaps suggesting that both were shut down due to COVID-19-related protocols. Regardless of why he was dropped from the active roster, Webb is no longer in line to rejoin the rotation during the upcoming week, as had been expected following Johnny Cueto's (lat) recent placement on the IL. The Giants will first require a replacement in the rotation for Webb on Tuesday in Philadelphia.

Needed in rotation again
Webb will move back to the rotation for a pair of starts while Johnny Cueto (lat) is on the injured list, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Impact
Webb opened the season with a pair of starts, giving up six runs on 15 hits in 10.1 innings, before moving to the bullpen. He's needed again in the rotation temporarily but will likely return to the bullpen in late April unless another injury strikes the Giants' rotation.

Perfect inning in relief outing
Webb pitched a perfect seventh inning with one strikeout to earn a hold in Wednesday's 3-0 win over the Reds.
Impact
Webb was taken out of the rotation Wednesday, as Alex Wood is expected to return Saturday. The 24-year-old Webb through 11 pitches (six strikes) in his first relief appearances of the year. The right-hander is expected to be available for long-relief duties when necessary. He has a 4.76 ERA, 1.76 WHIP and 12:5 K:BB through 11.1 innings this season. Considering Johnny Cueto (lat) left Wednesday's game early, Webb could be a candidate for a spot start Tuesday in Philadelphia.

Shifting to bullpen role
Webb will pitch out of the bullpen going forward, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Impact
Webb made two starts to begin the regular season and posted a 5.23 ERA and 1.94 WHIP in 10.1 innings. However, Alex Wood (back) is slated to make his season debut as a starter Sunday, so Webb will move to a relief role while Aaron Sanchez remains in the starting rotation. Webb should serve as a long reliever for San Francisco but is expected to remain stretched out in case he's needed as a starter at some point, Mark W. Sanchez of KNBR 680 San Francisco reports.

Labors through five innings
Webb allowed three runs on eight hits and two walks over five innings during Saturday's 4-3 win over the Rockies. He had six strikeouts and did not factor in the decision.
Impact
The left-hander started out with three scoreless frames but surrendered three runs across the fourth and fifth innings. Webb has given up six runs on 15 hits with a 11:5 K:BB over 10.1 innings through his first two starts of the season, and he's set to pitch at Miami next weekend.

Shaky in first start
Webb (0-1) took the loss against Seattle on Saturday, hurling 5.1 innings and allowing three runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out five.
Impact
Webb looked dominant in Cactus League play, allowing only one run and posting a 22:2 K:BB across 17 innings. The story was much different in his initial outing of the regular season, however, as the right-hander allowed too much traffic on the basepaths and yielded three runs between the third and fourth innings. Webb will look to rebound in his next start, currently slated to take place Saturday at home against Colorado.
