Goes on 60-day injured list The White Sox placed Bush (elbow) on the 60-day injured list Monday.

Impact The transaction frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for Owen White, who has been claimed off waivers. Bush underwent Tommy John surgery last week and will miss the entire 2025 season.

Set for Tommy John surgery Bush will undergo Tommy John surgery on his left elbow Wednesday, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

Impact Bush ended last season on the injured list with what was referred to at the time as a left triceps strain. It's not clear whether this injury is related to that or a new issue, but either way, the southpaw will now miss the entire 2025 season and could potentially get a late start to 2026, as well. Bush, 25, held a 5.60 ERA and 11:16 K:BB over 17.2 innings with the White Sox last season.

Recalled, shelved with tricep injury The White Sox recalled Bush from Triple-A Charlotte on Saturday and placed him on the 15-day injured list with a left tricep strain, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

Impact Chicago optioned Bush to Triple-A on Aug. 26, and despite making a one-inning start for Charlotte on Sept. 7, he'll revert to the big club's 15-day IL after suffering the injury in that outing. Given the timing of the injury, Bush is unlikely to be activated before the season ends Sept. 29. Bush made four starts for the White Sox prior to his demotion in late August, logging a 5.60 ERA and 2.04 WHIP while walking more batters (16) than he struck out (11) over 17.2 innings.
