INJURIES

Launches first homer in win Stowers went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, two RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's 8-7 win over the Nationals.
Impact Stowers finished a triple shy of the cycle, highlighted by a two-run blast that got the Marlins on the board in the fourth inning. It was the first homer of the year for the 28-year-old and his first three-hit effort since April 24. On the season, he's slashing .239/.320/.343 with five extra-base hits, three RBI and 10 runs scored across just 75 plate appearances.

Makes first career start at 1B Stowers got the start at first base Sunday and went 0-for-4 in a loss to the Giants.
Impact It was the 28-year-old's first career action at first base, and his first 239 big-league games all came in the outfield or at DH. Stowers could get a longer look at the position as the Marlins search for a long-term answer, but Connor Norby appears to be manager Clayton McCullough's first choice for now. In six games since recovering from a hamstring strain and making his belated 2026 debut. Stowers is batting .273 (6-for-22) with three doubles, but he's still looking for his first homer and first RBI.

Doubles twice in three-hit effort Stowers went 3-for-5 with two doubles and two runs scored in Friday's 9-4 win over the Giants.
Impact Stowers has gone 6-for-15 (.400) with three doubles and two walks over four games since he made his season debut after being shelved for nearly a month due to a hamstring strain. He's predictably settled into a starting job in left field and should be a near-everyday player as long as he's healthy. Stowers broke out with 25 homers and a .288/.368/.544 slash line over 117 contests in 2025, though his power swing has yet to fully show up this year.

Taking seat for day game Stowers is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cardinals.
Impact Stowers missed the first three weeks of the season due to a right hamstring strain before coming off the injured list Sunday and starting in each of the Marlins' subsequent three games while going 3-for-10 with a double, two walks and two runs. The 28-year-old hasn't suffered any reported setbacks since returning, so his absence Wednesday looks to be the result of him getting rest for a day game after a night game.

Two hits in season debut Stowers went 2-for-3 with a double in Sunday's win over the Brewers.
Impact Getting the start in left field and batting cleanup in his season debut, Stowers also reached base on a hit by pitch. The 28-year-old outfielder is looking to make up for lost time after a breakout 2025 in which he slashed .288/.368/.544 with 25 homers in 117 contests, and he should be a fixture in the heart of the order for the Marlins.

Back from injured list The Marlins reinstated Stowers (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list Sunday.
Impact Stowers sustained the hamstring strain during the closing days of spring training -- after dealing with a similar injury earlier in camp -- and is ready to make his 2026 MLB debut after a five-game rehab assignment. The 28-year-old is expected to reclaim the starting job in left field and could also get some reps at first base. Regardless of where he's playing in the field, he should have plenty of RBI opportunities batting in the heart of Miami's lineup.

Marlins to activate Kyle Stowers from the injured list Sunday for season debut

The Marlins will get a huge offensive boost soon
APRIL 18 • Associated Press
Returning Sunday Manager Clayton McCullough said Saturday that Stowers (hamstring) will return from the injured list Sunday, Kevin Barral of FishonFirst.com reports.
Impact After playing five rehab games at Triple-A Jacksonville, Stowers returned to Miami on Saturday to be evaluated by the team. Now that he's been given a clean bill of health, the 28-year-old will officially make his season debut in Sunday's series finale against Milwaukee. He will reclaim his place as Miami's primary left fielder, though the Marlins also plan to give him a few reps at first base.

Impact Stowers has gone just 2-for-15 with a 0:6 BB:K in his first four rehab contests, but it sounds like his season debut is imminent as long as he checks out physically. The 2025 All-Star has been out all season with a right hamstring strain. All three of Stowers' starts in the field on his rehab assignment have been in left field, and that will be his primary position once he's activated. However, the plan is to get him some occasional reps at first base, as well.

Cleared for rehab games Stowers (hamstring) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Jacksonville on Friday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Impact Stowers will play for Jacksonville on Friday, take Saturday off and then return to action Sunday for the Jumbo Shrimp as he eases back into game action following a right hamstring strain. The 28-year-old will take over in left field when he's ready to rejoin the Marlins, but Stowers is also under consideration for reps at first base.
APRIL 9 • ROTOWIRE
Taking reps at first base Stowers (hamstring) has been doing fielding drills at first base while getting ready to begin a rehab assignment, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Impact The 28-year-old was a Gold Glove finalist in left field last season so a permanent position switch is unlikely, but the Marlins are looking for answers at first base after Christopher Moral (oblique) also landed on the IL right before Opening Day. "It's definitely a possibility," manager Clayton McCullough said about the possibility of Stowers seeing time at first base when he's healthy. "I spoke with Kyle about this in November, over the offseason, that as much I value and we do as an organization, positional flexibility and optionality, Kyle potentially had a skill set to maybe do that." Four different players have already seen time at first base for Miami this season, and the position could remain a revolving door as McCullough mixes and matches his lineups depending on who's hot and who's on the mound for the opposition. Stowers could begin a rehab stint with Triple-A Jacksonville this weekend.
APRIL 9 • ROTOWIRE
Nearing rehab assignment Marlins manager Clayton McCullough said Wednesday that Stowers (hamstring) should be ready to begin a rehab assignment "soon," Kevin Barral of FishonFirst.com reports.
Impact Stowers went through a workout Wednesday -- which included some live at-bats -- and the Marlins will see how he bounces back before mulling next steps. McCullough also noted that Stowers could play some first base while on his rehab assignment and, if he takes to it well, is an option to see some action at the position in the majors. Stowers has never played first base in pro ball but did handle the position a bit in the Cape Code League and summer ball several years ago. The 28-year-old is working his way back from a right hamstring strain.
