INJURIES

Alllows two runs, removed in fifth Harrison did not factor into the decision Thursday, allowing two runs on five hits over 4.2 innings against the Nationals. He struck out three.
Impact Harrison rebounded after having allowed four home runs in his previous start, allowing just two runs to cross the plate Thursday while avoiding the long ball for the sixth time in his last eight starts. Harrison remained in the game following a 50-minute rain delay in the top of the third but was removed with the bases empty and two outs in the fifth at just 61 pitches, a season-low total for the 22-year-old lefty. With no indication that an injury was the cause for his removal, Harrison currently looks to be on track to make his next start, which is tentatively scheduled to take place during next week's home series against Atlanta.

Serves up four homers in 3.2 frames Harrison (6-5) took the loss against Cincinnati on Saturday, allowing six runs on six hits and one walk while striking out four batters over 3.2 innings.
Impact Harrison had been pitching well coming into Saturday, giving up two runs over 17 innings across his previous three starts. However, he was hit hard by the Reds, with four of the six hits against him leaving the park. Two of those homers came during a disastrous fourth frame during which Harrison yielded four total hits and four runs. The four long balls were a season-worst mark for Harrison, and it was just the fourth time through 19 starts that he's surrendered multiple homers in an outing.

Dominates Rockies again Harrison (6-4) allowed a run on one hit and two walks while striking out a season-high 11 over 6.2 innings to earn the win Friday over the Rockies.
Impact Harrison's performance has taken a star turn in July -- he's allowed just two runs on seven hits and seven walks over his last 17 innings across three starts. The Rockies have been on the receiving end of two of those outings. The southpaw is now at a 3.69 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 90:33 K:BB through 97.2 innings over 18 starts this season. Harrison's career high in total innings is 113 from the 2022 season, so it's worth monitoring how he'll hold up down the stretch with the Giants still somewhat in the hunt for a playoff spot. He's projected to make his next start on the road at Cincinnati.

Fitzgerald hits 2 home runs, Harrison strikes out 11 and Giants beat Rockies 11-4

Holds Rockies scoreless Harrison allowed a hit and four walks over five shutout frames in a no-decision Friday. He struck out six during the loss to Colorado.
Impact As is often the case, Harrison showed off his potential while struggling to hone his command. Only two Rockies reached scoring position against him and he never faced too heavy of a threat. Harrison has allowed fewer than two runs in six of his 17 starts this year but he's walked at least four on four occasions. The 22-year-old southpaw lowered his ERA to 3.86 with a 79:31 K:BB through 91 innings. Harrison's next outing is lined up to be a road matchup with the Dodgers.

Secures fifth win Harrison (5-4) earned the win over the Twins on Friday, allowing one run on five hits and a walk while striking out three over 5.1 innings.
Impact Harrison allowed four runs on four hits and four walks over 3.1 innings against the Guardians in his first start back from the injured list July 6, so this was a sizable step forward. For the year, Harrison is at a 4.08 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 73:27 K:BB over 86 innings spanning 16 starts. The 22-year-old lefty built up to 83 pitches Friday after throwing 72 pitches in his first start back, and he is tentatively in line for two start (@LAD, vs. COL) in the first full week after the All-Star break.

Short start in return Harrison (4-4) allowed four runs on four hits and four walks while striking out two over 3.1 innings to take the loss Saturday versus the Guardians.
Impact Harrison allowed three runs in the first inning and then gave up a solo home run to Steven Kwan in the second. While Harrison managed to settle down after that, he was done for the day after 72 pitches (44 strikes), providing little respite for an overworked bullpen. The southpaw missed nearly three weeks with a right ankle sprain but didn't require a rehab assignment. Harrison has a 4.24 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 70:26 K:BB over 80.2 innings through 15 starts this year. He's projected for a home start versus the Twins next week.

Slated for return Friday Harrison (ankle) will be reinstated from the 15-day injured list Saturday to make a start in Cleveland.
Impact As anticipated, Harrison will bypass a rehab assignment and step right back into the San Francisco rotation after having missed just under a month with a right ankle sprain. During his absence, Harrison has been able to build his arm back up through bullpen sessions and live batting practice sessions, so he likely won't face any major restrictions in his first start since June 10. Harrison went 4-3 with a 3.96 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 68:22 K:BB across 77.1 innings over his first 14 starts with the Giants prior to landing on the shelf.

Tagged for 12 hits in loss Harrison (4-2) took the loss Wednesday against the Phillies, allowing four runs on 12 hits and a walk over five innings. He struck out five.
Impact Harrison's final line ultimately could've looked a lot worse, as he surrendered a career-most 12 hits. The 22-year-old southpaw's hit a rough patch of late, giving up three or more runs over five innings in each of his last four starts. Harrison's ERA is up to 4.15 through 12 starts (65 innings) this year with a 1.40 WHIP and 60:22 K:BB. He'll look to get on track in his next outing, currently lined up for early next week in Arizona.
