Lands on IL with ankle sprain
The White Sox placed Lee on the 10-day injured list Thursday due to a left ankle sprain.
Impact
Lee sustained the injury in the sixth inning of Wednesday's 3-2 loss to the Guardians. The severity of the ankle sprain isn't known, but since it's considered more than a day-to-day concern, Lee was deactivated and replaced on the 26-man active roster by veteran backstop Omar Narvaez, whose contract was purchased from Double-A Birmingham. Matt Thaiss should still see the majority of the starts behind the plate while Lee is on the shelf.

IL stint expected
Lee will likely spend time on the injured list after rolling his left ankle during Wednesday's game against Cleveland, James Fegan of SoxMachine.com reports.
Impact
Lee stepped on Carlos Santana's foot while trying to make it back to first base on a pickoff attempt in the sixth inning of Wednesday's contest. No official move has been made yet, but Omar Narvaez's removal from his game at Double-A Birmingham could suggest that he's on his way to join the White Sox as Lee's injury replacement.

Removed with injury
Lee was removed from Wednesday's game against the Guardians due to an apparent ankle injury, Kyle Williams of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Impact
Lee appeared to roll his ankle while scrambling back to first base in the sixth inning. He ended up getting picked off to end the frame and was replaced at catcher when the White Sox took the field. The team will take a closer look at him to see if he suffered any structural damage, but he can be considered day-to-day for now.

Sitting against righty again
Lee is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Angels.
Impact
Lee drew the start behind the plate Opening Day while the Angels sent Yusei Kikuchi to the bump, but the catcher will hit the bench for the second game in a row. The Angels have deployed right-handed starters Saturday and Sunday, so the right-handed-hitting Lee could be part of a loose platoon at catcher with the lefty-hitting Matt Thaiss, who draws a second straight start.

Impressive in spring
Lee has gone 10-for-25 with four extra-base hits in Cactus League games.
Impact
Lee has a 49 wRC+ across 490 big-league plate appearances, so success across a small sample in relatively meaningless games isn't all that reassuring. However, he appears likely to enter the regular season as Chicago's primary catcher and his performance this spring could buy him some additional time over top prospects Kyle Teel and Edgar Quero.

Back in action Saturday
Lee (hand) will start at catcher and bat eighth in Saturday's Cactus League game against the Dodgers.
Impact
Lee suffered a bruised hand during Wednesday's contest and had to make an early exit, but the issue has subsided ahead of Saturday's game. The 26-year-old has gone 3-for-9 with two RBI and two runs scored over five games this spring and figures to open the season as Chicago's primary catcher.

Has bruised hand
Lee was removed from Wednesday's Cactus League game against the Brewers due to a bruised right hand.
Impact
X-rays on Lee's hand came back negative after the game, and he is officially considered day-to-day. The 26-year-old backstop suffered the injury during the third inning of Wednesday's contest while attempting to throw to third base to catch a stealing Sal Frelick. The White Sox may give Lee a day or two off to recover, which will open up more reps behind the plate for prospect Edgar Quero.

Struggles to close season
Lee went 1-for-5 with two RBI and a stolen base Sunday against the Tigers.
Impact
Lee has split time with Chuckie Robinson in September after struggling for the second half of the campaign. Since the All-Star break, he has maintained just a .242 wOBA and .558 OPS. Even so, Lee should get the chance to open the 2025 season as the White Sox's starting backstop.

Goes deep in victory
Lee went 2-for-2 with a two-run home run and two walks in Wednesday's 4-3 win against the Angels.
Impact
Lee opened the scoring in the contest with a two-run blast off Jose Suarez in the second inning. Discarding Tuesday's contest during which Lee played only as a late defensive replacement and didn't log a plate appearance, it was the second straight game with a long ball for the backstop. Prior to that, Lee had undergone a stretch of 27 contests without a home run.

Homers Sunday
Lee went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Sunday's loss to the Padres.
Impact
Lee opened up the scoring with a solo shot to left off Yu Darvish in the third for his first home run since Aug. 12. Though he's not playing every day, Lee has just five hits and two RBI this month with three of those hits coming over his last two starts. For the year, he's slashing .207/.238/.341 with 11 homers, 33 RBI, five steals and a 15:121 BB:K in 382 plate appearances.

Lee isn't in the White Sox's lineup for Saturday's game against the Padres.
