Outrighted to Triple-A The White Sox outrighted Lee to Triple-A Charlotte on Saturday, LaMond Pope of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Impact Lee was DFA'd by the White Sox on Wednesday after he failed to make the team's Opening Day roster. He'll remain in the organization after clearing waivers but could see some major-league action this season if the White Sox require depth at catcher. Lee appeared in 26 regular-season games for the White Sox in 2025 and posted a .257/.333/.429 slash line with one home run and three RBI across 40 plate appearances.

Impact Lee is set to be the odd man out after Chicago signed Reese McGuire to a one-year deal Sunday. The catcher is getting moved/released by the team in the near future according to manager Will Venable, per Jon Greenberg of The Athletic. Lee remains with the organization for the time being, and he's batting ninth against the Mariners on Sunday night. To this point in spring training, he has produced a .297 average with two home runs, six RBI, seven runs scored and four stolen bases over 37 at-bats in 14 contests.

Impact Backup catcher Matt Thaiss was traded to the Rays for a low-level prospect (Dru Baker) Tuesday in advance of Lee's activation. Edgar Quero should continue to play more than Lee, although Quero could start getting another start or two at designated hitter each week to provide Lee with more opportunities.
