Puk (elbow) and Justin Martinez (elbow) are sidelined, Ginkel is competing with Shelby Miller and Ryan Thompson for save chances. Impact Ginkel, who returned from a season-opening stint on the 10-day injured list Tuesday, wasn't eased into the fray. He entered with a runner on second and two outs in the seventh inning. He walked the first batter faced before stranding both runners. Ginkel should pitch in similar high-leverage situations going forward and could earn some save opportunities pending an evaluation of closer Justin Martinez, who's experienced a significant drop in velocity since resting a shoulder issue.

Justin Martinez and Shelby Miller are likely to remain the favorite for saves initially, but Ginkel could see some chances with A.J. Puk (elbow) on the injured list.

It wasn't an ideal outing from a results perspective, but he managed to ramp up his pitch count to 22 and suffered no setbacks. He should be activated from the injured list within the next few days.
