Shuts door for third save Ginkel struck out the side to earn the save Sunday against Houston.

Impact With Paul Sewald out of the picture in Arizona, Ginkel is in the mix as one of Arizona's favorites for saves. The right-hander has been scored upon on just one occasion over his last nine outings, successfully converting each of his last three save opportunities. Through 59.2 innings, he has a 4.07 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 61:16 K:BB.

Claims second save Ginkel didn't allow a hit, walk or run while striking out one over one-third of an inning to earn the save in Sunday's 5-3 win over the Reds.

Impact Brandyn Garcia was given the first chance at the save, but he was removed after the three-batter minimum. Ginkel allowed one baserunner on an error but struck out Tyler Stephenson to preserve the lead. Ginkel has had a shaky August, allowing seven runs over 8.2 innings, which has led to limited opportunities for him to be a factor in Arizona's closer committee. For the year, he's at a 3.76 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 53:15 K:BB while adding two saves, 11 holds and a blown save over 55 innings.

Bags first save Ginkel struck out tow in a perfect inning to earn the save in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Dodgers.

Impact Ginkel has allowed five runs (four earned) over 5.2 innings since Arizona's closer committee emerged. He has a save, a blown save, a hold and a win in that span. There's still no favorite for saves currently -- Brandyn Garcia has picked up two of them to Ginkel's one, while Jonathan Loaisiga and Juan Morillo have served more in setup roles since Paul Sewald was removed from the closer role. For the year, Ginkel has a 3.60 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 47:15 K:BB through 50 innings while adding 11 holds.

Tagged with blown save Ginkel was tagged with his first blown save of the season Tuesday against the Pirates after allowing an unearned run in the 10th inning.

Impact Ginkel was the second Arizona pitcher to blow a save opportunity Tuesday after Paul Sewald couldn't close things out in the bottom of the ninth while holding a three-run lead. Ginkel had a one-run lead in the 10th, but a fielding error from first baseman Tyler Locklear allowed Endy Rodriguez to score. Ginkel tossed nine of his 13 pitches for strikes in this outing, and while he couldn't close out the game, he's been pitching well of late. He hasn't allowed earned runs in 10 of his 13 outings this month, posting a 3.46 ERA and 0.92 WHIP across 13 innings.

Cleans mess in win Ginkel retired both batters faced in the eighth inning of Thursday's 2-1 win over the Rockies.

Impact Much of the focus after the win was on the sterling performance of starter Eduardo Rodriguez and Corbin Carroll's walk-off single, but Ginkel made it possible. With one out in the eighth inning, Juan Morillo hit a batter with the bases loaded that tied the game. Enter Ginkel, who induced a pop-out to the catcher and a groundout to third base to limit the damage. It was the reliever's eighth scoreless outing over his last nine appearances, during which the right-hander has allowed four hits, two walks while striking out nine over 7.1 innings. With Paul Sewald holding down the closer job, there isn't much opportunity for Ginkel to pick up saves, but his 3.20 ERA in 2026 is making last season (7.36) look like an outlier.

The right-hander was able to limit the damage at just one before Arizona scored 11 unanswered runs. The 32-year-old had previously gone seven of his last eight appearances not allowing an earned run. This was Ginkel's first home run allowed through 12 outings to date.
