Impact After being torched for seven runs Friday against the Cubs, Gausman struggled on the hill once again Thursday while matching a season worst in hits allowed. The Rangers did most of their damage during a five-run third frame, taking Gausman deep three times on the evening. The 35-year-old right-hander will try to get back on track at home against the Mets next week, now holding a 4.36 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 93:22 K:BB over 95 innings.

Impact It was a disaster of an opening frame for Gausman, who walked the first two batters he faced before eventually giving up a grand slam to Carson Kelly as part of a seven-run frame. It's the third time in the right-hander's last four starts that he's allowed four or more runs, and he's surrendered five homers during that span. The poor showing boosted Gausman's ERA by more than a half-run to 4.04 to go along with a 1.13 WHIP and 89:20 K:BB over 87 innings this year.

Strong start wasted Saturday Gausman didn't factor into the decision in Saturday's 3-1 loss to the Yankees, allowing one run on one hit and two walks over seven innings. He struck out seven.
Impact The veteran righty dominated a New York lineup missing Aaron Judge (ribs), generating 20 swinging strikes among his 105 pitches (66 total strikes), but the lone hit off Gausman was a solo shot by Jasson Dominguez in the fourth inning. It was an impressive return to form for Gausman after he'd been tagged four eight runs in 11 innings over his prior two outings, and Saturday's quality start was his first since May 22 and eighth of the year. He'll look to keep rolling in his next trip to the mound, which lines up to come on the road next weekend against the Cubs.

No-decision vs. Baltimore Gausman did not factor into Sunday's decision against the Orioles, allowing four runs on five hits while striking out five across five innings. He did not issue a walk.
Impact Gausman was dominant through four innings, limiting the Orioles to just one baserunner over that span. Unfortunately for the right-hander, he proceeded to give up four runs in the fifth inning, three of which came on home runs from Taylor Ward and Colton Cowser. It was a bit of bad luck for Gausman, as three of those runs wouldn't have happened if Brandon Valenzuela could have squeezed a foul tip that would've ended the inning with a strikeout, which ultimately led to an RBI double from Blaze Alexander. Gausman escaped with the no-decision after his teammates rallied for five runs in the fifth, but he's now given up four runs in back-to-back starts, which has him at a 3.60 ERA and 1.09 WHIP across 80 innings this season. His next start is slated for next weekend at home against the Yankees.
