Gets first MLB call-up The Giants recalled Winn from Triple-A Sacramento on Monday.

Impact Winn has made nine of his 12 appearances with Sacramento this season as a starter, but he's expected to operate as a multi-inning option out of the bullpen during his upcoming stint with the big club. After being added to the Giants' 40-man roster over the winter, the 25-year-old right-hander submitted a 4.35 ERA and 1.65 WHIP while striking out 51 over 41.1 innings at Sacramento to earn his first call to the majors.

Joining team in St. Louis Winn is headed to St. Louis to join the Giants for their series against the Cardinals, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.

Impact Baggarly writes that Winn will be with the team "in some capacity," so it's unclear at this point whether he'll be recalled or joining the taxi squad. Winn has never pitched in the majors but was added to the 40-man roster over the offseason. He holds a 4.35 ERA and 51:21 K:BB over 41.1 innings with Triple-A Sacramento in 2023, making nine starts and three relief appearances.

Optioned out of MLB camp The Giants optioned Winn to Triple-A Sacramento on Tuesday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Impact Winn was added to the 40-man roster in November so that he could be protected from the Rule 5 Draft, but he never stood much of a chance to make the Opening Day squad out of camp this spring. The 25-year-old posted a 4.08 ERA in 108 innings last season between Low-A, High-A and Double-A ball.
