Drew Waters - Outrighted to Triple-A Waters was outrighted to Triple-A Omaha on Sunday.
Impact Waters was designated for assignment by the Royals on Wednesday, and he will now head to Omaha after clearing waivers. The outfielder played in 71 contests with Kansas City in 2025, batting .243 with a home run, 14 RBI, 21 runs scored and five stolen bases, and he'll likely get another shot with the major-league roster down the road this year.

No sweep, but plenty to like from Braves' season-opening series win ATLANTA -- Ozzie Albies hit the first of three home runs on Opening Day and Dominic Smith hit one of the most emotionally stirring home runs...

Carter Jensen - Homers in win Jensen went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a sacrifice fly in Sunday's 4-1 win over Atlanta.
Impact Jensen extended Kansas City's lead to 2-0 with a 371-foot shot off Grant Holmes, his first hit and home run of the season. The 22-year-old Jensen should continue to see regular at-bats in the middle of the Royals' lineup -- he got his first start at catcher Sunday after serving as the DH in his first two games. Jensen is now 1-for-8 to open the year after slashing .300/.391/.550 with three homers in 69 plate appearances last season.

Grant Holmes - Falls to Kansas City Holmes (0-1) took the loss Sunday against the Royals, allowing three runs on five hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out four.
Impact Holmes set down the first six batters he faced Sunday before giving up a run in each of the third, fourth and fifth innings in an eventual 4-1 defeat. The right-hander was stellar in spring training, allowing just two runs in 17.2 innings. Holmes made 21 starts for Atlanta in 2025, posting a 3.99 ERA with a 1.34 WHIP and 123:54 K:BB across 115 innings.

Seth Lugo - Sharp in season debut Lugo (1-0) earned the win Sunday over Atlanta, allowing five hits over 6.1 scoreless innings. He struck out three.
Impact It was a strong start to the year for Lugo, who held Atlanta to a lone extra-base hit en route to the Royals' first win this season. Lugo is looking to turn things around after an up-and-down 2025 campaign where he finished 8-7 with 125 strikeouts and a 4.15 ERA, his highest in five seasons. Lugo is tentatively scheduled to face the Brewers at home in his next outing.

Lucas Erceg - Converts save Sunday Erceg converted the save Sunday against Atlanta, striking out one batter while allowing a single, before inducing a game-ending double play ball.
Impact Erceg was pitching on back-to-back days, but only threw 12 pitches on Saturday. Teammate Carlos Estevez (ankle) blew the save Saturday in spectacular fashion and was unavailable to pitch, but also might be on shaky ground and has had diminished velocity all spring. Erceg should be rostered in the event a role change occurs.
