Departs with tight hamstring
Foscue was lifted from Monday's Cactus League game against the Angels due to right hamstring tightness, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.
Impact
Foscue singled and scored a run in the top of the first inning in his lone plate appearance before being removed for defense prior to the bottom of the second. It's unclear whether he'll be sent for an MRI, but even if it's not serious, Foscue figures to be off limits for at least a day or two. He's competing for a reserve role with the Rangers.

Trying to increase versatility
Rangers manager Skip Schumaker said Thursday that Foscue will be given some reps in the outfield during spring training, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Impact
Foscue has played only in the infield both in college at Mississippi State and since entering pro ball, but increasing his versatility gives him a better chance to make the team in a reserve role. The 26-year-old has struggled mightily during his brief time in the majors, going 3-for-51 with a 2:21 BB:K.

Optioned to Triple-A
Foscue was optioned to Triple-A Round Rock on Saturday.
Impact
He was up for a couple weeks while Wyatt Langford (oblique) was on the shelf, but Foscue has logged only six MLB at-bats this season, going 1-for-6 with a double. He'll serve as organizational depth at Triple-A, where the 26-year-old is hitting .259 with 10 homers in 53 games.

Make season debut
Foscue started at first base and 0-for-3 in Monday's 6-0 loss to Baltimore.
Impact
Foscue, who was called up from Triple-A Round Rock on Saturday, made his season debut for the Rangers. His MLB debut came in April of 2024 but was cut short immediately by an oblique injury. A 14th-overall draft pick in 2021, Foscue came up as a second baseman but has since added first base to his profile and could see time there with Jake Burger (oblique) on the 10-day injured list.

Impact
Foscue will fill Jake Burger's (oblique) spot on the 26-man roster after Burger was placed on the 10-day injured list. Foscue will be making his 2025 MLB debut if he gets into a game. He slashed .269/.360/.487 with 10 home runs in 229 plate appearances with Round Rock while playing first and second base.

Sent to minor-league camp
The Rangers optioned Foscue to minor-league camp on Wednesday, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Impact
Foscue came into camp likely on the outside looking in for a roster spot and didn't do anything to change minds with a .631 OPS during Cactus League play. The 26-year-old went just 2-for-42 at the dish for the Rangers last season and will begin the 2025 campaign at Triple-A Round Rock.

Sitting in third straight game
Foscue is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks.
Impact
Foscue had an opportunity to pick up regular at-bats after Corey Seager (hip) was placed on the injured list last week, but the Rangers have seemingly pulled the plug on the rookie. He'll hit the bench for the third game in a row while Ezequiel Duran has emerged as the preferred option for the lineup spot vacated by Seager.

Not starting against righty
Foscue is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Angels.
Impact
Though he was deployed at designated hitter both of the past two days when the Angels sent left-handed starters to the hill, the right-handed-hitting Foscue will hit the bench for a fourth straight matchup with a right-hander (Caden Dana). Even with the recent move of Corey Seager (hip) to the injured list opening up a spot in Texas' everyday lineup versus righties, the Rangers seem inclined to rotate a number of players at DH rather than committing to Foscue in a full-time role.

Starts at first base
Foscue started at first base and went 0-for-2 with a walk and a run scored in Sunday's 6-4 extra-inning win over Oakland.
Impact
While the Rangers have not yet been eliminated from the postseason, the club faces a long haul -- 9.5 games back of the third wild card spot -- over the final month. That suggests opportunities for prospects like Foscue, who could get some run at first base ahead of Nathaniel Lowe, whose contract expires this offseason.

Back with Rangers
The Rangers recalled Foscue from Triple-A Round Rock on Saturday.
Impact
Foscue went just 1-for-17 with seven strikeouts during his most recent stint in the majors in late July. However, he's bounced back nicely since then, putting up a .964 OPS alongside six homers and 18 RBI across 117 plate appearances in Triple-A. He'll have a hard time competing for playing time behind Marcus Semien and Josh Smith, though he could possibly be used occasionally as a DH against left-handers.

Heads back to minors
The Rangers optioned Foscue to Triple-A Round Rock on Monday.
Impact
Foscue had already been withheld from the lineup in each of the Rangers' last four matchups against right-handed pitching, and his outlook for playing time was only going to worsen with Josh Jung (wrist) returning from the 60-day injured list Monday. As a result, Texas will send the 25-year-old back to Triple-A to receive everyday at-bats. Foscue struggled to produce at the plate during his week-long stint with the big club, going 1-for-17 with a double and seven strikeouts over his five starts as Texas' designated hitter.

Impact
Foscue will get a breather Saturday after going 0-for-4 in Friday's 6-5 loss to Toronto. Jonah Heim will serve as the designated hitter Saturday and bat seventh against Blue Jays right-hander Kevin Gausman.
