Claimed by Giants San Francisco claimed Dean off waivers from the Dodgers on Thursday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Impact Dean logged two plate appearances in 18 big-league games during the 2025 season, spending most of his time at Triple-A Oklahoma City. The outfielder slashed .289/.378/431 with six homers and 27 stolen bases over 347 plate appearances for OKC. He'll get a fresh start with the Giants.

Called up by Dodgers The Dodgers called up Dean from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
Impact Dean will be replacing Esteury Ruiz on the bench, with Luken Baker cleared out to make room on the Dodgers' 40-man roster. The 28-year-old Dean will likely be used sparingly, although he figures to at least make his MLB debut in the coming days, which makes him a success story as a 17th-round pick in 2018. Dean swiped a total of 61 bags last year between Atlanta's Double-A and Triple-A affiliates.

Impact Signed to a minor-league contract over the offseason, Dean has slashed .274/.370/.426 with 25 stolen bases this season with Oklahoma City. He can play all three outfield spots and is likely to serve in a reserve outfielder/pinch runner role. The Dodgers will have to free up spots on the 26-man and 40-man rosters in order to add Dean.

Impact Dean went 3-for-11 with a double, four walks, three runs scored, two stolen bases and four strikeouts while appearing in 11 games during spring training. He'll now likely begin the 2025 campaign with Triple-A Oklahoma City as he continues to wait for an opportunity to make his MLB debut.
