Dealt to St. Louis The Cardinals acquired Bruihl from the Guardians on Tuesday in exchange for cash considerations.
Impact Bruihl has bounced around from the Blue Jays to the Guardians and now to the Cardinals since mid-December. The left-handed reliever holds a career 4.72 ERA and 69:32 K:BB over 89.2 frames covering parts of five major-league seasons. Bruihl does not have minor-league options remaining, so he's a good bet to make the Opening Day roster if he's still with St. Louis in spring training.
JANUARY 6 • ROTOWIRE
DFA'd by Cleveland The Guardians designated Bruihl for assignment Saturday.
Impact Cleveland just acquired Bruihl from Toronto in exchange for cash considerations Wednesday, but it appears the Guardians no longer see the southpaw as part of the team's big-league bullpen after they signed fellow reliever Shawn Armstrong on Thursday. Bruihl may have to settle for a minor-league deal eventually, as he holds a career 4.72 ERA and 1.37 WHIP with a 69:32 K:BB over 89.2 innings across 94 games spanning parts of five campaigns.

Traded to Cleveland The Guardians acquired Bruihl from the Blue Jays on Wednesday in exchange for cash considerations.
Impact Bruihl held a 5.27 ERA and 18:7 K:BB across 13.2 frames at the major-league level during the 2025 season. The left-handed reliever does not have minor-league options remaining, so he should have a good chance to crack the Guardians' Opening Day bullpen.

Tyler Rogers and Blue Jays finalize $37 million, 3-year contract

Sidearming right-hander Tyler Rogers and the American League champion Toronto Blue Jays have finalized a $37 million, three-year contract
DECEMBER 16, 2025 • Associated Press
Removed from 40-man roster The Blue Jays designated Bruihl for assignment Monday.
Impact The transaction clears a spot on the 40-man roster for Tyler Rogers, whose signing was officially announced Monday. Bruihl made 15 appearances out of Toronto's bullpen in 2025, collecting a 5.27 ERA and 18:7 K:BB across 13.2 frames. The southpaw has been outrighted previously, so he would have to approve an outright assignment by the Blue Jays.

Back in bigs The Blue Jays recalled Bruihl from Triple-A Buffalo on Friday, Mitch Bannon of The Athletic reports.
Impact Bruihl will join the active roster for the final weekend of the regular season, replacing Paxton Schultz in the bullpen. Bruihl, a 28-year-old, has a 5.68 ERA in 12.2 innings with the Blue Jays this season. He has been with Buffalo since Aug. 30.
SEPTEMBER 26, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Sent down to Triple-A The Blue Jays optioned Bruihl to Triple-A Buffalo on Saturday.
Impact Bruihl struggled in his most recent outing, allowing two runs on three hits over one inning against Milwaukee on Friday, and has been sent down to Triple-A in a corresponding move to Easton Lucas' call-up. Bruihl could be back with Toronto later in the campaign if the team needs to fortify its lefty bullpen depth.
