Back in action Tuesday Bruihl (ankle) logged two scoreless innings in the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Brewers.
Impact Bruihl had to be lifted from an outing Monday with a right ankle sprain, but he bounced back quickly and was available for the Cardinals' next game. Though he got off to a slow start this season, the lefty reliever has settled in nicely with a 1.31 ERA and 16:4 K:BB over 20.2 innings covering his last 15 appearances.

Expects to be 'fine' Bruihl said that he expects to be "fine" after exiting Monday's appearance versus the Brewers with a right ankle sprain, Daniel Guerrero of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Impact Bruihl rolled his ankle while fielding an infield single. The left-hander had thrown 23 pitches over 1.1 innings before being pulled, so there's a good chance he'll be unavailable for Tuesday's doubleheader regardless, but Bruihl should be able to avoid a stint on the injured list.

Impact Bruihl appeared to tweak his ankle while fielding an infield dribbler, and he exited the game immediately after the play. He'll presumably be sent for additional testing to determine whether a trip to the injured list is warranted.

Settling in after rough start Bruihl logged 2.2 scoreless innings with two strikeouts in Thursday's win over Atlanta.
Impact Bruihl was first out of the bullpen for the Cardinals after starter Dustin May exited with an ankle injury after retiring just two batters. The team's bullpen wound up turning in 8.1 scoreless frames in a comeback victory. Bruihl got off to a rocky start this season but has settled in, authoring a 1.04 ERA and 15:2 K:BB over 17.1 innings covering his last 13 appearances.

Dealt to St. Louis The Cardinals acquired Bruihl from the Guardians on Tuesday in exchange for cash considerations.
Impact Bruihl has bounced around from the Blue Jays to the Guardians and now to the Cardinals since mid-December. The left-handed reliever holds a career 4.72 ERA and 69:32 K:BB over 89.2 frames covering parts of five major-league seasons. Bruihl does not have minor-league options remaining, so he's a good bet to make the Opening Day roster if he's still with St. Louis in spring training.
JANUARY 6 • ROTOWIRE
DFA'd by Cleveland The Guardians designated Bruihl for assignment Saturday.
Impact Cleveland just acquired Bruihl from Toronto in exchange for cash considerations Wednesday, but it appears the Guardians no longer see the southpaw as part of the team's big-league bullpen after they signed fellow reliever Shawn Armstrong on Thursday. Bruihl may have to settle for a minor-league deal eventually, as he holds a career 4.72 ERA and 1.37 WHIP with a 69:32 K:BB over 89.2 innings across 94 games spanning parts of five campaigns.
