Impact Profar was lifted for a pinch runner in the top of the sixth inning of Wednesday's 9-8 extra-inning win after he was hit just below the right kneecap by a 95-mile-per-hour fastball. Per Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune, X-rays on Profar's knee came back negative, and he didn't appear to be limping around the clubhouse following Wednesday's game. As such, the Padres evidently felt comfortable enough with inserting Profar back in the lineup for the series finale.

Impact Profar took a 95-mph fastball off his right knee in the sixth inning of Wednesday's contest. He was able to limp to first base and remained in the game after being examined by trainers, but the decision was made to pull him after he had a hard time running to second base on a Xander Bogaerts single. The severity of Profar's injury is still unknown, but Bryce Johnson could be in line to make a start in the outfield if the 31-year-old is forced to miss any amount of time.
