Finally placed on injured list The Mets placed Siri on the 10-day injured list Thursday with a left tibia fracture.

Impact Siri was diagnosed with the injury Monday, but the Mets held off on making the IL move official so that they could play roster games with their bullpen. There's no timetable for his return, but expect the veteran outfielder to be shelved for more than a month. Tyrone Taylor will be the club's primary center fielder while Siri is out.

The Mets recalled a fresh arm from the minors (Justin Hagemann) to eat innings out of the bullpen Wednesday and optioned reliver Max Kranick to Triple-A Syracuse in a corresponding move, but New York could place Siri on the IL on Thursday to allow Kranick to rejoin the active roster ahead of a four-game series with the Cardinals.

Manager Carlos Mendoza stated that Siri will be placed on the 10-day injured list while rehabbing the injury, though a timetable for his return has yet to be established. Tyrone Taylor and Starling Marte will presumably get more looks in the outfield while Siri is sidelined.
