Fans seven for win Quintana (2-4) gave up one earned run on six hits and no walks while striking out seven over five innings to earn the win in a 5-2 victory over the Yankees on Tuesday.
Impact Quintana came up big against one of the most formidable lineups in baseball, garnering 10 swings and misses en route to seven strikeouts and his second win of the season. The veteran left-hander has been effective this season and now has a 3.33 ERA in 16 starts for the Pirates. Tuesday's performance marked his third quality start in a row and he will look to carry his momentum forward into his next expected start at Milwaukee on Sunday.

Pushed off start Sunday Quintana won't start Sunday's game against the Brewers, as Zach Thompson (forearm) was reinstated from the 15-day injured list and will take the hill for the Pirates instead, Rob B...
Impact Quintana initially looked in line for a two-start week, but he'll miss out on the two step after the Pirates elected to activate Thompson to have him start in the series finale with Milwaukee. As a result of the change, the veteran left-hander now looks on track to make his next turn through the Pittsburgh rotation Tuesday against the Yankees at home.

Another strong no-decision Quintana allowed one run on four hits and two walks across six innings during Tuesday's 3-1 loss at Washington. He had six strikeouts and didn't factor in the decision.
Impact It was the second straight quality start for the veteran southpaw, though he was left with a no-decision on both occasions. Quintana generated 14 swinging strikes, and he delivered five consecutive scoreless innings after giving up a run in the opening frame. The 33-year-old has pitched well for Pittsburgh this year with a 3.43 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 67:25 K:BB over 76 innings, though he's rarely been rewarded in the win column with a 1-5 record.

Solid in no-decision Quintana completed six innings against the Cubs on Thursday, allowing two runs on six hits and one walk while striking out six. He did not factor in the decision.
Impact Quintana gave up a pair of runs in the third inning, but he otherwise kept Chicago off the scoreboard and exited after six frames with a lead. However, the Pirates' bullpen collapsed late in the game, resulting in a no-decision for the veteran hurler. Quintana racked up 16 swinging strikes in the performance, and his six strikeouts were the second-most he has registered in a game this season. This was his first quality start since May 15. Though he is stuck on just one win this season, Quintana has posted a respectable 3.60 ERA along with a 1.31 WHIP over 70 innings.

Gives up three runs Quintana gave up three earned runs on five hits and two walks while striking out five over 5.1 innings in 7-5 loss to the Giants on Saturday. He did not factor into the decision.
Impact Quintana was hurt by solo home runs off the bats of Wilmer Flores and Austin Slater. He has now given up five home runs in his last two starts and his ERA has ticked up to 3.66 on the season. Despite maintaining somewhat respectable ratios, Quintana's fantasy value is hampered by the Pirates' poor offensive output. He has only one win on the season despite having made thirteen starts. Quintana is expected to take the mound next against the Cubs on Thursday.

Yields three homers Quintana (1-4) allowed four runs on six hits and a walk over five innings Sunday, striking out four and taking a loss against Atlanta.
Impact Quintana coughed up three home runs in the loss, including a pair from Adam Duvall. He's allowed eight runs over his last two starts, raising his season ERA from 2.68 to 3.53 in the process. Quintana had given up just two homers this season entering Sunday's game and he'd gone seven straight starts without allowing one. He'll look to get back on track in his projected home outing against the Giants next week.

Pulled after 3.1 innings Tuesday Quintana (1-3) took the loss Thursday against Detroit, allowing four runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out five in 3.1 innings.
Impact Quintana allowed one hit in his first time through the lineup but fell apart after that, allowing seven of the next nine batters to reach safely. It was his shortest start and first time he gave up four earned runs in a start this season. The lefty has failed to complete five innings in five of his 11 starts on the season.

Takes no-decision against Dodgers Quintana pitched 4.1 innings against the Dodgers on Wednesday, allowing two runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out three. He did not factor in the decision.
Impact Quintana started the outing strongly, retiring the side in order in the first inning. However, Los Angeles gradually chipped away against the left-hander, and he was lifted after allowing six of the final nine batters he faced to reach base between the fourth and fifth frames. Los Angeles managed only two runs against him, however, allowing Quintana to log a no-decision. He's pitched well for the Pirates this season, logging a 2.32 ERA across 10 starts despite recording only one win. He's expected to make his next start at home against Detroit next week.
JUNE 2 • ROTOWIRE
Strikes out four Quintana allowed two runs (none earned) on four hits and two walks while striking out four across 5.1 innings Friday against San Diego. He did not factor into the decision.
Impact Quintana held the Padres in check for five innings but was pulled in the sixth frame after he allowed a single and an additional runner reached base on an error. His four strikeouts weren't particularly impressive, though he did manage to rack up 14 swinging strikes across 96 pitches. Quintana has allowed two or fewer earned runs in seven consecutive starts and now owns a 2.15 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 38:17 K:BB across 46 innings on the season.

Can't escape fourth inning in loss Quintana (1-2) took the loss against St. Louis on Saturday, allowing five runs (two earned) on seven hits and one walk while striking out four across 3.2 innings.
Impact Quintana had been on quite a roll entering Saturday, tossing two straight quality starts during which he held opponents without a run over 13 innings. However, the veteran left-hander was unable to keep that momentum going against the Cardinals, as he gave up a season-high seven hits and five runs (though only two of the runs were earned). Most of the damage against Quintana came in the second inning, when St. Louis struck for four runs with the help of a fielding error. Despite the rough outing, Quintana still owns an excellent 2.43 ERA on the campaign, and he'll look to get back in the win column when he faces San Diego on the road next weekend.

Throws seven scoreless innings Quintana allowed three hits and a walk while striking out five in seven scoreless innings during Sunday's win over the Reds. He didn't factor into the decision.
Impact Neither team was able to generate much offensive production during Sunday's matchup, so Quintana was forced to settle for the no-decision. The southpaw has now posted a 1.17 ERA in 23 innings over his last four starts, but he's earned just one win during that time. He tentatively lines up to make his next start at home against the Cardinals on Saturday.
