Outrighted off 40-man roster Guzman (elbow) has been reinstated from the 60-day injured list and outrighted off the 40-man roster, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Impact Guzman had been out since mid-August with an elbow issue. Players can't remain on the injured list over the offseason, so the Marlins had to either add him to the 40-man roster or outright him. They went the latter route, perhaps unsurprisingly for a pitcher who has given up eight runs in just 2.2 career MLB innings.

Shifts to 60-day IL Guzman (elbow) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Friday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Impact The 25-year-old landed on the shelf with soreness with his right elbow in mid-August, so the move to the 60-day IL will bring an end to his 2021 campaign. Guzman missed the first half of the season while rehabbing an elbow issue and made only 11 appearances between Triple-A and the majors before suffering another injury.
