Swipes two more bags in win
Villar went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, a double, an RBI, a run and a walk as he helped the Marlins to an 8-2 win over the Braves on Friday.
Impact
Villar drove home the first Marlins run on a third-inning double but once again showed his ability to run on the basepath with his fourth and fifth stolen bases of the season. After a 40-steal campaign in 2019 which was good for third in the league, He now is tied for second in the MLB in stolen bases after Friday's performance and appears well on his way to dominating that category this season once again.

Getting busy on basepaths
Villar went 2-for-4 with a walk, an RBI and a stolen base in Wednesday's extra-inning win over the Blue Jays.
Impact
The 29-year-old has settled into a groove after the Marlins' chaotic start to the season, hitting .270 (10-for-37) so far in August. Villar has also begun to make an impact on the basepaths, with all three of his steals on the season coming in the last seven games.

First homer of season
Villar went 3-for-5 with a home run, an additional RBI and a stolen base in Thursday's win over the Orioles.
Impact
Villar smacked his first homer of the season in the bottom of the first, and he later plated another run with a single in the fourth, scoring Magneuris Sierra. This was Villar's first multi-hit performance of the season, although he also extended his hitting streak to five contests, going 7-for-18 (.389) with a homer, two RBI, four runs scored, two walks and two stolen bases in that stretch.

Shifting to shortstop
Villar will operate as the Marlins' primary shortstop until Miguel Rojas (illness) returns from the injured list, Craig Mish of SportsGrid.com reports.
Impact
Villar started at second base, center field and designated hitter over the first three games of the season before Miami's COVID-19 outbreak, but he'll shift to shortstop while Rojas is sidelined. The 29-year-old is starting at shortstop and batting leadoff Tuesday at Baltimore, and he should remain a fixture at the top of the order for the rest of the season, regardless of where he's playing in the field.

Powers Miami with two-run homer
Aguilar went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in the Marlins' 5-2 win over the Phillies on Opening Day.
Impact
Aaron Nola and Sandy Alcantara were tied 1-1 in the sixth inning before Aguilar created some separation with his first long ball as a Marlin. Back in March, there was talk that Aguilar would likely hit cleanup for the team, but he hit second in the opener between Jonathan Villar and Corey Dickerson.

Held out with back spasms
Villar wasn't in the lineup for Thursday's intrasquad matchup as he deals with minor back spasms, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
Impact
The issue doesn't sound overly serious, but the team elected to use caution by giving Villar a day off Thursday. The 29-year-old reportedly felt better as the intrasquad game approached, but he'll still be held out to avoid risk. Since both Villar and the Marlins didn't sound too concerned, it wouldn't be surprising to see him return to action in the coming days.

Primed for big opportunity
Dickerson is expected to hit third and serve as the Marlins everyday left fielder during the 2020 season, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.
Impact
Dickerson recorded an impressive .906 OPS in 78-injury-riddled games last season with the Pirates and Phillies while battling a variety of hand and foot injuries. Having signed a two-year, $17.5 million deal with Miami in the offseason, the power-hitting outfielder will look to fulfill high expectations during his 2020 campaign. Dickerson will likely be slotted behind Jonathan Villar and Brian Anderson, who should provide plenty of RBI opportunities.
