Back in lineup Monday India (thigh) is starting at designated hitter and batting leadoff Monday against the Marlins.
Impact After he was scratched from Sunday's lineup with a left thigh contusion, India is ready to go for Monday's series opener. Following a cold start to the month, the 25-year-old has gone 14-for-50 with three homers, three doubles, seven RBI, 10 runs and a stolen base over his last 12 contests.

Scratched with bruised thigh India was scratched from Sunday's lineup against the Cardinals with a left thigh contusion, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.
Impact India suffered the injury during Saturday's contest on a hard head-first slide into home, and he'll be held out of the lineup for at least one game. Matt Reynolds will take over at the keystone for Cincinnati while Tyler Naquin moves up to the leadoff spot.

Connects for fourth homer India went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Saturday's 11-3 loss to the Cardinals.
Impact The 25-year-old led off the game with a long ball, but it was all downhill for the Reds after that. His season has been marred by injuries, most notably hamstring trouble, though India is showing signs of life at the plate. He's 13-for-43 (.302 average) with three doubles and two home runs in his last 10 games.

Cashes in game-winner India went 2-for-5 with a double, a two-RBI single and a stolen base in a 4-3 win over the Yankees on Tuesday.
Impact India came up with a big game-winning, two-RBI base hit in the top of the ninth against a stellar Yankees bullpen to give his team the 4-3 win. He had doubled and stolen third off Gerrit Cole earlier in the game for his second steal of the year. The performance is one of the few bright spots for India this season. The 25-year-old's sophomore campaign has failed to duplicate the success he found in 2021, and he is slashing a miserable .221/.273/.321 on the season. However, India has been mildly better in recent days and has hits in five of his past six games. If India is going to be an effective leadoff hitter for the Reds, he is going to have to raise his 2.8 percent walk rate.

Four hits across doubleheader India went 4-for-8 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored while starting both games of Thursday's doubleheader against the Pirates.
Impact India poked a go-ahead RBI single in the evening game to cap his impressive day and help the Reds salvage a split in the twin bill. This has been an incredibly disappointing season to date for India, as he's battled various injuries, the most recent being an ankle injury suffered on a hit-by-pitch Wednesday. X-rays were negative and his performance suggests the ankle is nothing to worry about, but he hasn't been running much at all after the hamstring trouble earlier in the season. Until last year's NL Rookie of the Year can put together a stretch of sustained health, his production will continue to lag behind.

Back in lineup Thursday India (ankle) is starting at second base and batting leadoff in the first game of Thursday's doubleheader with the Pirates.
Impact After being hit in the ankle by a pitch Wednesday and exiting the contest early, India will be back in the lineup Thursday. The 26-year-old has produced just one hit in 15 at-bats so far in July, lowering his batting average to .204 on the season.
