Activated from 60-day IL The Rangers activated Gray (forearm) from the 60-day injured list Wednesday.
Impact Gray has been sidelined all season after suffering a fractured right forearm during spring training. The Rangers have announced their starting pitchers through the end of this weekend and Gray is not included among them, so they could be planning to deploy him as a reliever. Gray allowed three runs with an 8:2 K:BB over 8.2 rehab innings. He went 3.2 innings and threw 61 pitches in his last outing, so he is available for length in the bullpen, if that's the role the Rangers have envisioned for him.

Throws 61 pitches in rehab start Gray (forearm) allowed one run on three hits and two walks while striking out five over 3.2 innings for Triple-A Round Rock on Saturday.
Impact Gray threw 61 pitches (37 strikes) in what he hopes was his final rehab start. He's made three starts -- two at Round Rock sandwiched around one in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League. The Rangers will evaluate the right-hander to determine if his pitch count and Saturday's four up-and-downs are sufficient to activate Gray.

One more rehab game on tap Manager Bruce Bochy said Thursday that Gray (forearm) will make another rehab start at Triple-A Round Rock on Saturday, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.
Impact Saturday is expected to be Gray's final outing in the minors before returning from the injured list next week. The 33-year-old has made two appearances since starting up his rehab assignment, giving up two earned runs while striking out three batters over five frames. Because he has yet to last longer than three frames in a start, he'll likely have to work under a pitch count during his first few starts with the Rangers. Otherwise, the team could use him as a multi-inning option out of the bullpen.

Work three frames in rehab start Gray (forearm) struck out two and allowed one earned run on six hits and no walks over three innings Monday in a rehab start in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League.
Impact Gray had been scheduled to make his second rehab appearance with Triple-A Round Rock this past weekend, but a rainout nixed those plans. The Rangers instead had him head to the ACL, where he was able to tack an extra inning on to his workload after covering two frames for Round Rock in his first rehab start last Wednesday. Gray is expected move back to the Triple-A club for his next outing this weekend, and he'll likely need to make at least one more start in the minors after that before he garners consideration for a return from the 60-day injured list. The right-hander has been on the shelf all season after fracturing his forearm March 14, when he was struck by a comebacker in a Cactus League outing.

Next outing set Gray (forearm) will make his next rehab start with Triple-A Round Rock on Saturday, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Impact Gray began his rehab assignment Wednesday and threw 32 pitches while completing two innings. It was previously estimated that he would make four rehab appearances, setting Gray up for a potential return in late July.

Begins rehab assignment Gray (forearm) allowed one run on one hit and struck out one over two innings for Triple-A Round Rock on Wednesday.
Impact Gray began a rehab assignment with the Express, throwing 32 pitches (20 strikes), and was touched for a home run. Texas manager Bruce Bochy told Kennedi Landry of MLB.com that Gray would throw about four outings while on rehab but acknowledged that is a "rough timeline."

JULY 10 • Associated Press
Ready for rehab assignment The Rangers announced that Gray (forearm) will make a rehab start Wednesday for Triple-A Round Rock.
Impact Gray will be making his first appearance in a game since March 14, when he fractured his right forearm after being struck by a comebacker in a Cactus League contest. He was cleared to begin a throwing program in May, and after building up through a series of bullpen sessions and live batting practice sessions over the last few weeks, he's now reached the final phase of the recovery process. Assuming the Rangers plan on having Gray get stretched back out as a starter, he'll likely need at least two or three starts in the minors before he would be considered for a spot in the big-league rotation. Gray could be ready to return from the 60-day injured list at some point in late July or early August.
