Activated from 10-day injured list
Rodriguez (ankle) was activated from the 10-day injured list Friday, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Impact
Rodriguez was limited by a sprained ankle during spring training that forced him to miss the start of the regular season, but he'll now be available to make his 2021 debut. The southpaw could be in the mix for save chances along with Ian Kennedy and Matt Bush.

Hits 10-day injured list
Rodriguez (ankle) landed on the 10-day injured list Thursday.
Impact
Rodriguez is expected to miss roughly the first two weeks of the season while he works his way back from an ankle sprain. Once healthy, he could potentially push for save opportunities in a ninth inning that appears to be wide open following Jose Leclerc's Tommy John surgery.

Won't be ready for Opening Day
Rangers general manager Chris Young said that Rodriguez (ankle) will open the season on the injured list, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Impact
Rodriguez is believed to be progressing well from the sprained ankle that limited him early in spring training, but because he has yet to pitch in a Cactus League game with the start of regular season just 10 days away, the Rangers aren't counting on him to be an option for Opening Day. Young noted that Rodriguez will likely be in store for an abbreviated absence to begin the season, so he could be ready for activation from the IL in the minimum 10 days.

Graduating to mound work
The Rangers announced Tuesday that Rodriguez (ankle) is on track to resume throwing off a mound later this week, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Impact
Rodriguez will likely have to complete multiple bullpen sessions before he's cleared to face hitters again, but if he avoids any further setbacks this spring in his recovery from the ankle sprain, he should be able to avoid the injured list and win a spot in the Rangers' Opening Day bullpen. After a one-year stint in Japan, Rodriguez signed with Texas last winter and was effective over his 12 appearances during the abbreviated 2020 campaign, submitting a 2.13 ERA and 1.03 WHIP over 12.2 innings. If healthy, the lefty should be in the mix for a key setup role with the Rangers this season.

Limited to begin spring
Rodriguez is limited to begin spring training due to a sprained ankle, Levi Weaver of The Athletic reports.
Impact
It's not clear when Rodriguez suffered his sprained ankle, but he's slightly behind schedule to begin spring training as a result. The southpaw returned to the majors in 2020 and posted a 2.13 ERA and 1.03 WHIP over 12.2 innings with the Rangers. Weaver separately reports Rodriguez will be a late arrival to camp due to minor visa issues.

Done for season
Rodriguez (hamstring) was placed on the 10-day injured list Sunday and will miss the rest of the season, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Impact
The lefty strained his hamstring Saturday, and it's serious enough to end his campaign. Rodriguez finishes with a 2.13 ERA, 1.03 WHIP, 17:5 K:BB and three holds in 12 appearances -- an impressive return stateside after a couple seasons pitching in Japan. Rodriguez is under contract with Texas through next year, with a team option for 2022.
