Quality start Saturday
Adon didn't factor into the decision in a 3-2 loss to the Rockies during the second game of Saturday's doubleheader, allowing two unearned runs on six hits and two walks over six i...
Impact
The quality start was only the second of the season in 10 trips to the mound for Adon, who tossed 62 of 89 pitches for strikes before exiting. A setback for Joe Ross (elbow) might have bought Adon some more time in the Nationals' rotation, but the rookie will need to improve significantly on his 6.08 ERA, 1.67 WHIP and 38:29 K:BB through 47.1 innings to keep it.

Rocked by Dodgers
Adon (1-8) took the loss in Monday's 10-1 rout at the hands of the Dodgers, surrendering six runs on seven hits and four walks over 4.2 innings. He struck out four.
Impact
It was another rough outing for the 23-year-old, who tossed 58 of 92 pitches for strikes before getting the hook. Adon's eight losses lead the majors, and his 6.97 ERA and 1.72 WHIP make him a prime candidate to lose his rotation spot once one of Joe Ross (elbow) or Stephen Strasburg (neck) rejoin the roster in June.

Stuck with seventh loss
Adon (1-7) took the loss Tuesday, allowing one run on five hits over 4.2 innings as the Nationals fell 5-1 to the Marlins. He struck out two without walking a batter.
Impact
The 23-year-old now leads the majors in losses, but this one wasn't really his fault as the Nats gave Adon very little help. He tossed 84 pitches (54 strikes) before exiting, and the right-hander has failed to complete five innings in six of his eight starts this season. Adon will carry a 6.38 ERA, 1.64 WHIP and poor 31:23 K:BB through 36.2 innings into his next outing.

Takes another loss
Adon (1-6) allowed three earned runs on three hits and five walks while striking out two across 3.2 innings to take the loss Thursday against the Mets.
Impact
Adon struggled mightily with his command, which ultimately sunk his outing. He allowed three walks before a two-RBI single in the opening frame. Adon handed out an additional two free passes in the second inning but was able to work out of the jam. In addition to inflating his ERA, Adon's inability to find the strike zone has also run up his pitch count. As a result, he's now completed fewer than five innings in five of his seven starts. Overall, he has maintained a 7.03 ERA and 29:23 K:BB across 32 innings this season.

Drops third straight
Adon (1-5) allowed three runs on three hits and five walks over five innings Friday, striking out six and taking a loss against the Angels.
Impact
After an RBI groundout from Shohei Ohtani in the first inning, Adon turned in three scoreless frames. He then coughed up a two-run double to Mike Trout in the fifth. Both his six punchouts and five walks were the highest he's posted in a start this season. Adon will carry a 6.99 ERA into his projected home outing against the Mets next week.

Shaky in loss to Giants
Adon (1-4) took the loss Saturday, giving up four runs on four hits and three walks over four-plus innings in a 9-3 loss to the Giants. He struck out five.
Impact
The rookie right-hander continues to struggle. Adon has been tagged for at least four runs in four of his five starts this season, leading to a 7.33 ERA and 1.67 WHIP that seems entirely deserved given his 18.9 percent strikeout rate and 11.7 percent walk rate. The only thing keeping Adon in the rotation right now might be the Nationals' lack of viable alternatives.
