Starting Monday in place of German Brito will start Monday's game against the Rays, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

Impact Domingo German was scratched with an undisclosed physical issue, so Brito was recalled to make the spot start. Brito has been solid if unspectacular over his last five big-league starts, logging a 3.24 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 16 strikeouts over 25 innings. He most recently struck out three and gave up three runs in five innings for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on July 25.

Impact Ron Marinaccio was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move, as Brito presumably takes on a long-relief role for New York in the short term. Luis Severino has really struggled lately, giving up 27 earned runs in 21.2 innings over his last five starts, but there has not been any word of him getting removed from the rotation.

Impact Brito was optioned immediately following his loss to the Athletics, and he allowed two runs on four hits over 5.2 innings in that effort against Oakland.
