Demoted to Triple-A The Rockies optioned Criswell to Triple-A Albuquerque on Saturday.

Impact Criswell turned in scoreless innings in both of his appearances after being recalled from Triple-A on Tuesday, but he'll be sent back down so the Rockies can get a fresh arm in the bullpen in the form of Eiberson Castellano. Criswell hasn't performed nearly as well at Albuquerque this season (nine earned runs in 10.2 IP), but his performance with the Rockies could keep him in consideration for a return to Colorado later in the year.

Recalled from Triple-A The Rockies recalled Criswell from Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday.

Impact Criswell missed all of the 2025 season recovering from Tommy John surgery and has authored a 7.59 ERA in 10.2 innings with Albuquerque this season, though he has struck out 15. If/when the 27-year-old gets into a game, it will be his first in the majors since 2024.

Back from IL, staying in minors The Rockies reinstated Criswell (elbow) from the 60-day injured list Thursday and optioned him to Triple-A Albuquerque, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

Impact Criswell has spent the entire season on the injured list while finishing up his recovery from a Tommy John procedure he underwent in March 2025. He's already made a handful of appearances in the minors while on a rehab assignment but has struggled to the tune of a 5.91 ERA and 1.50 WHIP over 10.2 innings split between three affiliates. The Rockies will keep him in the minors for now, but now that he's back on the organization's 40-man roster, he's a likely candidate to return to the majors at some point once Colorado needs a fresh bullpen arm.

In midst of rehab assignment Criswell (elbow) made the second appearance of his rehab assignment with High-A Spokane on Sunday, striking out two over a perfect inning.

Impact Criswell missed the entire 2025 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery March 14, 2025, but the right-hander appears to be nearing the finish line in his long recovery process. Because the Rockies placed him on the 60-day injured list prior to Opening Day, Criswell won't be eligible for activation until late May, so he'll likely use most of his 30-day rehab window in the minors to knock off rust. Expect Criswell to eventually move his assignment to Double-A Hartford and/or Triple-A Albuquerque.
