Impact Sean Manaea kept the Marlins hitless and scoreless through five innings, but Serna helped turn things around in the sixth with an RBI double in the sixth inning. He added another double in the seventh for the first multi-hit game of his major-league career, and he's 3-for-8 with two RBI and two runs scored since making his big-league debut Sept. 1. Serna will continue to see playing time for as long as Xavier Edwards (thumb) is on the IL.

Impact The 24-year-old Serna will hit the big leagues for the first time and will provide the Marlins with some added depth in the middle infield after second baseman Xavier Edwards (thumb) was placed on the injured list in a corresponding move. Over 337 plate appearances with Jacksonville on the season, Serna slashed .218/.300/.364 with 11 home runs and 14 stolen bases.

Impact The 23-year-old played in four Grapefruit League games and went 3-for-11 with a double and a homer, but he'll now make his way to minor-league camp. Impact Serna appeared in six games at Triple-A Jacksonville at the end of last season, but the Marlins will send him back to Double-A to begin the 2025 campaign. The 22-year-old infielder went 4-for-7 with a home run, three runs scored and a stolen base in the Grapefruit League, and he may not have to wait long to return to Triple-A if his hot bat follows him to Pensacola.

Impact Serna was dealt from the Yankees to the Marlins in the Jazz Chisholm trade and has now joined Miami's 40-man roster. The 22-year-old began the 2024 season at the Low-A level before finishing it at Jacksonville, slashing .251/.337/.414 with 15 homers and 15 steals over three stops. He mostly played shortstop last season but can also handle second and third base.
