Impact Triantos' dynasty value has taken a hit over the past year, as he has been a below league average hitter in 128 games at Triple-A, dating back to 2024. A bat-first player, Triantos has shown remarkable pure hitting ability at Double-A and in the Arizona Fall League, so the Cubs will still protect him from the Rule 5 Draft despite the fact he slashed .258/.315/.369 slash line in 102 games at Triple-A in 2025. If Triantos can take a step forward as a hitter, his propensity to steal bases could eventually come in handy in fantasy -- he has stolen 78 bases over the past two seasons.

Garners spring invite The Cubs have extended Triantos an invitation to major-league camp during spring training, Maddie Lee of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Impact He'll be joined in camp by fellow top prospects Matt Shaw -- who could be the favorite to start at third base Opening Day -- and Moises Ballesteros, among others. Triantos, 22, is lacking in the power department, but he put together a healthy .300/.346/.427 batting line with seven homers and 47 steals between Double-A Tennessee and Triple-A Iowa last season. A debut sometime in 2025 for the infielder is possible.

Headed to Triple-A Triantos was promoted to Triple-A Iowa on Sunday, Tommy Birch of The Des Moines Register reports.

Impact Triantos will head to Iowa after he compiled a .300 average with seven home runs, 40 RBI, 63 runs scored and 38 stolen bases over 89 games with Double-A Tennessee this season. He'll join fellow infielder Matt Shaw and outfielder Kevin Alcantara in being promoted to Triple-A.

Impact Triantos spent the first month of the season on the shelf while recovering from the surgery he underwent in March to address a torn meniscus in his right knee, but the 20-year-old has hit the ground running upon reporting to South Bend. After playing primarily at third base in 2022, Triantos has made the move to the keystone in 2023, as nine of his 11 starts to date have come at second base. His other two starts have come as a designated hitter.
