Re-signs with Diamondbacks The Diamondbacks re-signed McCann to a one-year, $2.75 million contract, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

Impact He'll have the ability to earn an additional $500,000 in incentives. McCann signed with Arizona in late June this past season and went on to hit .260/.324/.431 with five home runs over 42 games. He will open the 2026 season as the backup catcher behind Gabriel Moreno.

McCann has been useful to Arizona's late season push for the playoffs, going 5-for-17 with two doubles, two home runs and eight RBI over his last five games.

Impact McCann will crack the lineup for the third time in four games after going 3-for-8 with two home runs and six RBI in his previous two starts. So long as he's swinging a hot bat, McCann will likely be able to play fairly regularly at catcher, clearing the way for Gabriel Moreno to see more time at designated hitter.
