Racks up three hits, stolen base Bader went 3-for-4 with a walk, two runs and a stolen base Saturday in a loss against the Giants.
Impact Bader came into the contest hitting just .172 (5-for29) over his previous eight games, but he broke out of the slump with his first three-hit game of the campaign against San Francisco. The speedy outfielder also swiped a bag to give him seven thefts on the campaign. Bader hasn't been caught stealing this season and appears on his way to eclipsing the career-best 15 thefts he collected in 2018.
MAY 8, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Launches second home run Bader went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in a 3-2 win against the Giants on Friday.
Impact Bader got St. Louis on the board with a two-run shot to left in the fifth for his second home run of May after failing to go deep in April. Despite the power surge, the speedy outfielder is 4-for-24 through six May games and has seen his average fall 22 points to .224 over the stretch. Bader will need to pick up the pace if he intends to approach last season's career high of 16 long balls.

Impact Bader now leads the National League with six steals this season, one ahead of teammate Tommy Edman. Bader has gone 7-for-20 (.350) across his last seven games, adding a double, three walks and four runs scored in that span. For the season, the center fielder is slashing .246/.343/.311 through 20 contests.

Steals base, scores twice Thursday Bader went 2-for-3 with a walk, a stolen base and two runs scored in Thursday's 8-3 win over the Diamondbacks.
Impact Bader has hit safely in four of the last five games, going 6-for-15 (.400) in that span. The outfielder has been a quality speed option so far with five stolen bases in 18 games -- he went 9-for-13 on the basepaths last season. He's slashing .250/.333/.321 with two RBI, nine runs scored and four doubles through 18 contests, though he's yet to swat a home run.

Gets Wednesday off Bader is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mets, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.
Impact He'll take a seat for the second time this season with the Cardinals wrapping up their series with the Mets with a day game after a night game. Dylan Carlson will slide over from right field to assume Bader's usual duties in center field, while Corey Dickerson picks up first start of the season in the outfield.

Swipes three bags Bader went 0-for-2 with two walks, two runs scored and three stolen bases in Saturday's win over the Reds.
Impact He helped manufacture runs in multiple innings. After a successful theft his first time on base, Bader decided to take second and third when he reached a second time. The outfielder has gone six games without an extra-base hit and has a .195/.298/.268 slash line early on, so expect to have to sacrifice in the other hitting categories if you want to chase these steals.
APRIL 24, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Not in Friday's lineup Bader isn't starting Friday against the Reds, John Denton of MLB.com reports.
Impact Bader had started every game for the Cardinals this year, but he'll get a breather after going 1-for-11 with two walks and five strikeouts in his last four appearances. Lars Nootbaar will start in center field and bat seventh.
APRIL 22, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Two RBI, stolen base Bader went 2-for-5 with two RBI, a run scored and a stolen base in a 10-1 win Friday in Milwaukee.
Impact In the four-run first inning, Bader singled in two runs, stole a base and came around to score. He added another single in the seventh. Moving up to sixth in the lineup, the 27-year-old recorded his first stolen base and RBI of the season.

Bader agrees to $10.4M, 2-year contract with Cardinals

Gold Glove-winning outfielder Harrison Bader and the St. Louis Cardinals agreed to a $10.4 million, two-year contract and avoided salary arbitration
APRIL 4, 2022 • Associated Press
Agrees to two-year deal Bader signed a two-year, $10.4 million contract with the Cardinals on Saturday, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.
Impact Bader and the Cardinals were unable to settle on an agreement prior to the arbitration deadline this spring, but he'll now land a deal that covers his final two years of arbitration. The 27-year-old has slashed .348/.375/.435 with two doubles, six RBI, a run, a stolen base, a walk and five strikeouts across eight Grapefruit League appearances this spring. Although the Cardinals added Corey Dickerson during the offseason, Bader is expected to see plenty of playing time to begin the 2022 campaign.
APRIL 2, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Solidifying everyday role Bader is 8-for-23 with two doubles, six RBI and a run scored through eight Grapefruit League games.
Impact Bader enters 2022 as the presumptive starting center fielder, though the Cardinals' outfield is a bit crowded with the addition of Corey Dickerson this spring. There's little reason for Bader to be concerned about a reduced role -- he slashed .267/.324/.460 with 16 home runs, 50 RBI, 45 runs scored and nine stolen bases in 103 games last season. Competition should keep him sharp, but the 27-year-old will likely be in the lineup more often than not. Bader is still expected to hit more toward the bottom of the order, which means he'll likely be batting ninth now that the designated hitter is universal, though the Cardinals boast a formidable starting nine.
