Goes unclaimed off waivers The Mariners outrighted Danner to Triple-A Tacoma on Monday.
Impact Danner will remain in the Seattle organization after he went unclaimed off waivers upon being designated for assignment Friday. The right-hander made a relief appearance in the big leagues with Toronto in 2023 but spent the entire 2024 season in the minors. He's thus far made two appearances for Tacoma, tossing 2.2 scoreless innings.
APRIL 7 • ROTOWIRE
DFA'd by Seattle The Mariners designated Danner for assignment Friday.
Impact The right-hander was optioned to Triple-A Tacoma in early March and has now lost his place on the 40-man roster to make room for Luis F. Castillo, who is making his MLB debut Friday against the Giants. Danner delivered 2.2 scoreless frames in two outings for Tacoma before the roster move, and he should remain with the affiliate if he passes through waivers unclaimed.

Optioned to Triple-A The Mariners optioned Danner to Triple-A Tacoma on Friday, Shannon Drayer of SeattleSports.com reports.
Impact The Mariners claimed Danner off waivers early January after the 26-year-old right hander was DFA'd by the Blue Jays in December. He spent most of the 2024 regular season with Triple-A Buffalo, where he posted a 3.15 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and seven saves across 34.1 innings. Danner will begin the 2025 campaign with Triple-A Tacoma, though he could see some time in the majors if the Mariners are in need of depth out of the bullpen.

Scooped up by Seattle via waivers The Mariners claimed Danner off waivers from the Blue Jays on Wednesday, Scott Mitchell of TSN.ca reports.
Impact Danner made one appearance for the Blue Jays in 2023 before spending most of the 2024 campaign at Triple-A Buffalo, holding a 3.15 ERA and 34:13 K:BB over 34.1 frames. He'll compete for a bullpen job in Seattle but has minor-league options remaining.
JANUARY 8 • ROTOWIRE
DFA'd by Torotno The Blue Jays designated Danner for assignment Friday, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Impact The move makes room on the 40-man roster for left-hander Josh Walker, who signed with the Blue Jays in a corresponding move. Danner spent the entire 2024 regular season with Triple-A Buffalo, and across 33 appearances he posted a 3.15 ERA and 1.32 WHIP over 34.1 innings.
DECEMBER 20, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Back at Triple-A Danner was activated from the 60-day injured list Wednesday.
Impact Danner missed two months while recovering from an undisclosed injury, but he finished up a rehab assignment with Single-A Dunedin on Aug. 10 and has pitched well in two relief appearances for Triple-A Buffalo. The right-hander has allowed one unearned run on one hit while walking two and striking out three over two innings of work.
AUGUST 20, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Opening season in minors The Blue Jays optioned Danner to Triple-A Buffalo on Saturday.
Impact Danner reached the big leagues for the first time last August, but the right-hander suffered a left oblique strain in his Blue Jays debut and was subsequently shut down for the season. He was fully healthy upon reporting to spring training, but the Blue Jays likely want to see the 25-year-old stack together some quality innings at the Triple-A level before making him a more permanent fixture in the big-league bullpen.

Moved to 60-day IL Toronto transferred Danner (oblique) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day injured list Friday, Kaitlyn McGrath of The Athletic reports.
Impact Danner suffered a left oblique strain in mid-August and it will wind up being a season-ending injury for the 24-year-old right-hander. He pitched well this summer in the upper minors and should be in the conversation for an Opening Day bullpen job leading into 2024.

Impact Danner made his big-league debut in relief against the Cubs on Friday but retired just one batter before exiting with discomfort in his left side. His diagnosis has since been upgraded to a straight, so he'll sit for at least the next two weeks. Nate Pearson will take his place on the roster.

Dealing with side soreness Danner was lifted from Friday's appearance against the Cubs due to left side discomfort, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.
Impact Danner lasted just one batter into his major-league debut before getting hurt. He'll be re-evaluated Saturday before more is known about his status, but a stint on the injured list certainly would appear to be on the table.
AUGUST 12, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Leaves appearance with injury Danner was removed from an appearance Friday versus the Cubs with an apparent back injury, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.
Impact Danner was making his major-league debut and wound up facing and retiring just one batter before grabbing at his back/side area and eventually walking off the field. The Blue Jays should have more on the 24-year-old reliever shortly, but it certainly seemed to be an injury which could require an injured list stint.
AUGUST 12, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Summoned to big leagues Danner was recalled from Triple-A Buffalo on Friday.
Impact Danner was added to the Blue Jays' 40-man roster a couple offseasons ago but this will be his first stint in the big leagues. He earned the opportunity after beginning the season at Low-A Dunedin, ultimately climbing up to Triple-A Buffalo and collecting a 3.66 ERA and 56:11 K:BB over 39.1 innings across three levels.
AUGUST 11, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Promoted to Triple-A The Blue Jays promoted Danner to Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday, Sam Dykstra of MiLB.com reports.
Impact Danner made his Double-A debut earlier in May and has recorded a 3.00 ERA and 1.22 WHIP with 16 strikeouts over nine innings. The 24-year-old reliever will likely remain in Triple-A for the rest of the year, but he could see time in the majors if he continues to mow through batters.
MAY 30, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Cleared for Double-A debut Double-A New Hampshire reinstated Danner (forearm) from its 7-day injured list Wednesday.
Impact The 24-year-old reliever was sidelined for just under a month to begin the season due to right forearm inflammation. He received the green light to join New Hampshire after he made a pair of one-inning rehab appearances at Single-A Dunedin, striking out five while allowing one earned run on one hit and two walks.

Impact Danner also threw two wild pitches in the appearance and ultimately needed 30 pitches just to record three outs. Some rustiness was to be expected after Danner had been sidelined since early March with right forearm inflammation, so the 24-year-old could stick around with Dunedin for another appearance or two before moving up to New Hampshire.
APRIL 28, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Optioned to minor-league camp Danner (forearm) was optioned Monday to minor-league camp by the Blue Jays, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.
Impact Danner was a longshot to make the roster anyway, but the inflammation in his right forearm made it all but a lock he'd open the year in the minors. The 2017 second-round pick could be a bullpen option for the Jays if he's healthy at some point over the summer.
MARCH 13, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Dealing with forearm inflammation Danner is battling right forearm inflammation and won't throw for the next few days, Mitch Bannon of SI.com reports.
Impact Danner's injury isn't considered serious enough to require an MRI, but it will nonetheless cost him some time this spring. Danner converted from catcher to reliever prior to the 2021 season and recorded a 2.02 ERA across 35.2 innings for High-A Vancouver that year, but injuries limited him to just four appearances last season.

OCTOBER 19, 2022 • BLUEJAYSNATION.COM
Sent to minor-league camp The Blue Jays optioned Danner to their minor-league camp Monday, Hazel Mae of Sportsnet reports.
Impact The 23-year-old was viewed as a potential two-way prospect when Toronto drafted him in the second round of the 2017 first-year player draft, but he's since made the full-time switch to pitching after enduring injuries and struggling to keep his strikeouts in check while playing catcher over his first three years in the minors. Danner turned heads while operating as a reliever at High-A Vancouver in 2021, holding opposing batters to a .171 average while registering a 2.02 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 42:12 K:BB in 35.2 innings. The right-hander will likely open the 2022 campaign at Double-A New Hampshire or Triple-A Buffalo.
MARCH 28, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Bumped up to 40-man roster Danner's contract was selected by the Blue Jays on Friday, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Impact Danner advanced to High-A Vancouver in 2021 and logged a 2.02 ERA and 0.93 WHIP in 35.2 innings across 25 relief appearances. He'll now be protected from the Rule 5 draft.
