Ditches crutches
Urshela (pelvis) said Sunday that he resumed walking without the aid of crutches earlier in the week, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
Impact
Urshela has been out since mid-June with a fractured left pelvis, an injury that the Angels announced will keep him out for the remainder of the season. Fortunately for Urshela, he'll avoid surgery to address the injury, and he said Sunday that he should be in store for a normal offseason. The 31-year-old is set to become a free agent this winter and will likely have to settle for a one-year deal on the open market.

Out for season
Urshela doesn't need surgery on his fractured pelvis, but he will miss the remainder of the season, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
Impact
Urshela took an awkward tumble while running to first base which forced him out of Thursday's game against Texas. The good news is that he won't need to undergo surgery, so he could be ready for the start of spring training next year, but the book appears to be closed for Urshela this season after slashing .299/.329/.374 with 24 RBI through 228 plate appearances.

Visiting with specialists
Urshela (pelvis) visited with a specialist earlier in the week and will see another on Wednesday, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
Impact
The Angels will have a better sense of his timeline after the visit Wednesday, Bollinger notes. Urshela was placed on the 10-day injured list with a left pelvis fracture before Friday's game. The veteran infielder will miss at least another week with the injury, but it's possible this will be an injury that keeps him out of action for the foreseeable future.

Hip injury forces IL stint
Urshela was placed on the 10-day injured list Friday with a hip injury, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
Impact
Urshela was injured during Thursday's game versus the Rangers when he stumbled awkwardly over first base while trying to beat out a double play ball. It's not clear at this point how long he might be sidelined. Michael Stefanic is taking Urshela's spot on the Angels' roster.

Impact
Urshela is dealing with a hip injury after awkwardly stumbling over first base while trying to beat out a double play in the first inning. There hasn't been any official move yet, by manager Phil Nevin suggested that Urshela will end up on the injured list in the coming days.

Exits after awkward fall
Urshela exited Thursday's game against the Rangers with an apparently lower-body injury, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
Impact
Urshela stumbled over first base while trying to beat out a double play in the first inning. He remained in the contest briefly but was ultimately pulled before having to field his position in the second inning. There are no additional details about the nature of the injury, but Jared Walsh entered the game at first base.

Back in lineup
Urshela (back) is starting at first base Thursday against the Rangers, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
Impact
Back soreness kept Urshela out of the Angels' last two games, but the issue appears to have subsided ahead of Thursday's contest. Urshela holds just a .400 OPS over the past seven days, but he will fill in for Jared Walsh, who hasn't recorded a hit since June 2.

Sitting out again Wednesday
Urshela (back) remains out of the lineup for Wednesday contest versus the Rangers, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.
Impact
He's now been out of the lineup for four straight contests and five of the last six while dealing with a back problem. Anthony Rendon's return also surely has impacted how much Urshela is playing, as well.

Remains out of lineup
Urshela (back) remains out of the lineup for Tuesday's contest against the Rangers.
Impact
Urshela has been out of the lineup five times in the last seven games at least in part due to a back injury. He's considered day-to-day. Brandon Drury is at first base and Luis Rengifo is at second.

Battling back issue
Urshela has been dealing with a back injury, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
Impact
It helps explain why he's out of the lineup Monday for the fourth time in six games, although that could also be in part due to Anthony Rendon returning from the injured list. At this point, Urshela's injury seems like a day-to-day situation.

Handling utility role
Urshela is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Rangers, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
Impact
On the bench for the fourth time in six games, Urshela looks to have moved into a utility role in the wake of Anthony Rendon's recent return from the 10-day injured list. Since Urshela has performed at just below a league-average level as a hitter (97 wRC+, .313 woBA) this season and is capable of playing all four infield spots, he should still be in line for a handful of starts per week.

ROTOWIRE
Back in starting lineup
Urshela (back) is hitting eighth and playing first base versus the Mariners on Saturday, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
Impact
Urshela was a late scratch from the lineup Saturday against Seattle, but it was described as precautionary and the infielder is feeling well enough to go against the M's for Saturday's contest. Jared Walsh heads back to the bench with Urshela handling first base.

ROTOWIRE
Scratched with back tightness
Urshela was scratched from the lineup Friday against the Mariners due to lower back tightness, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
Impact
This will thrust the struggling Jared Walsh into the Angels' starting lineup at first base. It sounds like a day-to-day type of issue for Urshela, who has posted a .304/.335/.382 batting line in 59 games (221 plate appearances) this season while getting everyday looks across the infield.

Homers, drives in three in loss
Urshela went 3-for-5 with a home run, a double and three RBI in Saturday's 8-5 extra-inning loss to the Marlins.
Impact
Each of Urshela's hits knocked in a run, and he came up a triple shy of the cycle. The infielder hasn't supplied much power this season, as his solo shot was just his second homer in 49 contests on the year, and he's added just seven doubles. He's at least made consistent contact lately, hitting safely in 10 of his last 12 games to raise his slash line to .318/.337/.392 with 23 RBI, 19 runs scored and three stolen bases through 184 plate appearances.

ROTOWIRE
Not in Thursday's lineup
Urshela is absent from the Angels' lineup for Thursday's game in Baltimore.
Impact
Luis Rengifo will handle third base and Brandon Drury will be at first while Urshela gets some rest. He had started the previous 11 contests.

ROTOWIRE
Two hits in loss
Urshela went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's 7-3 loss against the Orioles.
Impact
Urshela led off the fifth inning with a double before scoring on Zach Neto's base hit. The 31-year-old Urshela would add a second hit in the sixth, driving in Matt Thaiss to cut Anaheim's deficit to 4-3. Urshela has swung that bat well recently, slashing .341/.357/.415 over his last 11 games. He'd been filling a utility role for the Angels, though he'll take over as the regular third baseman while Anthony Rendon (groin) is sidelined. Urshela is batting .295 with one homer and a .667 OPS through 151 plate appearances on the campaign.

ROTOWIRE
Tallies three hits Sunday
Urshela went 3-for-5 and scored a run in Sunday's loss to the Rangers.
Impact
Urshela recorded his fourth three-hit game of the season in the loss, lifting his season slash line to .304/.328/.348. He's gone 6-for-10 over his past three games, but he hasn't collected an extra-base hit since since going deep against Boston on April 15.

ROTOWIRE
Collects three hits
Urshela went 3-for-4 with one RBI in Friday's loss to Milwaukee.
Impact
Urshela drove in the Angels only run of the night with a fourth inning single. He was on base three times Friday, but the Angels didn't produce an extra base hit all game. Urshela is batting .297, but he has just one homer and is slugging .352 in 2023.

Urshela is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Athletics, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.
Impact
Urshela will take a seat against the Athletics on Monday after going 2-for-11 in the three-game series against the Royals. Luis Rengifo will hit seventh and play second base with Brandon Drury hitting sixth while handling first base.
