Impact Lux was sent down as the team activated Mookie Betts and also needed arms out of the bullpen after a 16-inning marathon Wednesday. However, manager Dave Roberts also said that Lux would benefit from everyday at-bats, something he wouldn't get with the big-league club. Roberts also noted the possibility that Lux would return to the Dodgers in September, but that's not a given as rosters expand to only 28 spots rather than 40 as was the case in past seasons.

Impact Lux appeared in seven games for Triple-A Oklahoma City during his rehab assignment over the past week, and he'll rejoin the lineup versus Pittsburgh. The 23-year-old was locked into an everyday role before going down with the hamstring injury in mid-July, and he now appears to be the odd man out in the infield with Corey Seager healthy and Trea Turner joining the mix at the trade deadline. It will be Lux's first start at third base in the majors and indicates the Dodgers will try him out in a utility role. However, he's unlikely to be a reliable asset for fantasy managers while third baseman Justin Turner, Seager and Trea Turner remain healthy.
