Lands with Cubs Wall signed a minor-league contract with the Cubs on Friday, Tommy Birch of the Des Moines Register reports.
Impact Wall opted out of his minor-league contract with the Padres on Saturday, and he'll now attempt to carve out a role for himself in the Cubs organization. The 29-year-old owns a .298/.384/.429 slash line with 39 RBI, 51 runs scored and 21 steals through 69 games in the minors this season, and he could get the call to Chicago if the Cubs' outfield depth is tested down the stretch. Otherwise, he'll remain an organizational depth piece at Triple-A Iowa.

Opts out of minor-league deal Wall opted out of his minor-league contract with the Padres on Saturday, Kiley McDaniel of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Wall slashed .298/.384/.429 with four home runs, 39 RBI and 21 stolen bases over 69 games with Triple-A El Paso, but that wasn't enough to get him a look with the big-league club. He's thus elected to become a free agent and pursue an opportunity elsewhere. Over 31 career major-league regular-season games between Atlanta and Miami, Wall has slashed .311/.380/.422 with a home run, three RBI and nine steals in 13 attempts.
AUGUST 3 • ROTOWIRE
Cut from big-league camp The Padres reassigned Wall to minor-league camp Monday.
Impact Wall is expected to begin the season at Triple-A El Paso. The 29-year-old outfielder has seen big-league action in both of the past two seasons, slashing .311/.380/.422 over 50 plate appearances between stops with Atlanta and Miami.

Heads to San Diego on MiLB deal The Padres signed Wall to a minor-league contract Jan. 16.
Impact Wall, 29, played 16 games at the big-league level between Atlanta and Miami in 2024, putting up a .564 OPS. The Padres don't have much outfield depth, but Wall is nonetheless likely to begin the 2025 season at Triple-A El Paso.
JANUARY 28 • ROTOWIRE
Remains in organization The Orioles outrighted Wall to Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday, Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun reports.
Impact Wall was claimed by the Orioles off waivers last week before being removed from their 40-man roster without having made an appearance for them. He has passed through waivers unclaimed this time around and will remain in Norfolk.
SEPTEMBER 3, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Dropped from 40-man roster The Orioles designated Wall for assignment Sunday.
Impact Wall has now been DFA'd by three organizations this season, with Atlanta and Miami having already moved him off their 40-man rosters. If the 28-year-old goes unclaimed off waivers this time around, he'll likely stick around with Baltimore and continue playing regularly at Triple-A Norfolk. He's put together a .285/.382/.406 slash line along with six home runs and 16 stolen bases across three different Triple-A affiliates in 2024.

Claimed by Baltimore The Orioles claimed Wall off waivers from the Marlins on Wednesday and optioned him to Triple-A Norfolk, Dan Connolly of The Athletic reports.
Impact Wall will give the Orioles some outfield depth at Norfolk. The speedy 28-year-old has spent most of the 2024 campaign at the Triple-A level, producing a .776 OPS with five long balls and 16 steals.
AUGUST 28, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
DFA'd by Miami The Marlins designated Wall for assignment Monday.
Impact The move makes room on the 40-man roster for right-hander Mike Baumann, who the Marlins claimed off waivers from the Angels on Monday. Wall was claimed by Miami in late July from Atlanta and sent to Triple-A Jacksonville, where he's slashing .292/.382/.333 with six runs scored and four stolen bases across 55 plate appearances. It's the second time Wall has been designated for assignment this season, and the 28-year-old could be claimed off waivers by a team in need of a lefty-handed hitter who plays in the outfield.
AUGUST 26, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Headed back to Jacksonville The Marlins optioned Wall to Triple-A Jacksonville on Saturday.
Impact Less than a week after coming up from the minors, Wall will now be sent back to Triple-A to make room for Cristian Pache, who was claimed off waivers from Baltimore on Friday. Wall was able to appear in three games for Miami during his latest MLB stint, going 1-for-3 with a stolen base.
AUGUST 3, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Recalled from Jacksonville The Marlins recalled Wall from Triple-A Jacksonville on Sunday.
Impact Wall will take the vacant spot on the 26-man roster that was left by Jazz Chisholm, who was traded to the Yankees on Saturday. Wall was claimed off waivers by Miami on Thursday after Atlanta designated him for assignment three days earlier. He has a slash line of .241/.313/.241 with three stolen bases, three runs scored and one RBI across 32 major-league plate appearances this season.

Impact The 28-year-old outfielder was DFA'd by Atlanta on Monday to help make room for Whit Merrifield and Nacho Alvarez. Wall will remain in Triple-A, where he's slashed .279/.380/.411 with 18 RBI through 231 plate appearances, though he reclaims a 40-man roster spot upon joining his new organization.

Loses 40-man roster spot Atlanta designated Wall for assignment Monday.
Impact Atlanta needed to free up a spot on its 40-man roster in order to add Whit Merrifield and Nacho Alvarez. Wall, 28, has a .554 OPS in 13 games this season at the major-league level and stands a good chance of passing through waivers unclaimed.

Nabs steal in win Wall went 0-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Wednesday's 3-1 win over the Giants.
Impact Wall has gone 6-for-25 (.240) with three walks and three steals on five attempts since he rejoined Atlanta in mid-June. The outfielder is hitting .231 with three steals, one RBI and three runs scored across 29 plate appearances this season. He appears set for at least a strong-side platoon role for the remainder of the first half while Ramon Laureano (oblique) is on the mend.
JULY 4, 2024 • ROTOWIRE

Impact The lefty-hitting Wall will sit for the second time in the series while the Pirates bring another southpaw (Martin Perez) to the hill. With Wall on the bench, Luke Williams will pick up a start in left field.

Likely to miss out on roster spot Wall seems ticketed for Triple-A Gwinnett to begin the season following the addition of Adam Duvall, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.
Impact The 28-year-old appeared to have played his way onto Atlanta's Opening Day roster in a bench role with an impressive spring that has seen him bat .333 (10-for-30) with three homers and three steals. However, with Duvall now on the roster as a platoon partner for Jarred Kelenic in left field, Wall likely misses out as the team isn't expected to carry five outfielders. If his spring success carries over to Triple-A, Wall could be the first player called up should injuries hit the Atlanta outfield.

Hits first big-league homer Wall went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run, two walks and a stolen base in an 8-5 win over the Nationals in Game 2 of Sunday's doubleheader.
Impact Wall has mainly been limited to an in-game replacement role, but he started this contest. He was able to swat his first big-league homer in the sixth inning, and he's now 3-for-4 in stolen base attempts. The 27-year-old outfielder is expected to remain in a bench role through the end of the regular season.
