INJURIES

Pockets seventh win Fedde (7-8) picked up the win Saturday in a 3-2 victory over the Twins, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out four.
Impact The right-hander lasted just long enough to qualify for the win and benefit from Andrew Benintendi's go-ahead solo shot in the top of the sixth inning. Fedde tossed 57 of 88 pitches for strikes in his first win since July 31, and over seven appearances (one start) in August he's put together a 4.29 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 14:9 K:BB in 21 innings. If Davis Martin (finger) comes off the IL when rosters expand in September, Fedde is likely to shift back into a long-relief role.

Quiets Mets as long reliever Fedde took a no-decision against the Mets on Sunday, allowing no runs on three hits and one walk in four relief innings. He struck out two.
Impact Working behind opener Sean Newcomb on Sunday, Fedde served as a bulk reliever and fired four shutout innings to stymie a hot Mets lineup. The veteran right-hander still hasn't tossed at least five innings since his last start, which was July 31 in Tampa Bay, so the lack of consistent length will inhibit his streaming appeal in fantasy leagues going forward. Through 118.1 innings (12 starts) this year, Fedde has a pedestrian 4.18 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 84:43 K:BB.

Primed for bulk-relief role Sunday Fedde is expected to work in bulk relief Sunday against the Mets behind left-hander Sean Newcomb who is slated to start the game for the White Sox.
Impact The last time the fifth spot in the rotation came up Tuesday against the Cubs at Wrigley Field, the White Sox deployed Fedde out of the bullpen while Bryan Hudson worked the first inning of the contest. Fedde followed Hudson with a strong performance, striking out five batters across 4.2 scoreless frames while scattering three hits and two walks. Newcomb has maxed out at three innings on the season and should be capable of offering a little more length than Hudson to begin the game, but Fedde remains the White Sox pitcher most likely to qualify for a win Sunday.

Does well in bulk relief Fedde allowed three hits and two walks while striking out five over 4.2 scoreless innings in a no-decision versus the Cubs on Tuesday.
Impact Fedde worked in bulk relief behind opener Bryan Hudson, who allowed two runs in the first inning. This was an encouraging performance for Fedde, though he threw just 45 of 78 pitches for strikes. The veteran right-hander has a 4.33 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 82:42 K:BB through 114.1 innings over 27 games (12 starts) this season. Fedde's usage moving forward isn't yet clear, but he should get at least one more turn through the rotation, either as a starter or bulk reliever at home against the Mets over the weekend.

Pete Crow-Armstrong made MLB history with a leadoff home run and Alex Bregman’s RBI single gave the Chicago Cubs a second straight walk-off win over the Chicago White Sox, 4-3

Could work in bulk relief Tuesday Fedde could be a candidate to pitch in bulk relief behind opening pitcher Bryan Hudson in Tuesday's game against the Cubs, Noah Phalen of SouthsideShowdown.com reports.
Impact The White Sox moved Fedde to the bullpen in the aftermath of the trade deadline, but the team currently has two openings in its rotation after demoting Noah Schultz to Triple-A Charlotte on Aug. 8 and placing Davis Martin (finger) on the injured list Friday. Jose Urquidy worked in bulk relief last week when Schultz's turn in the rotation came up, and Fedde looks like a logical choice to help fill innings Tuesday, which would have been Martin's spot. After Martin departed Thursday's 9-8 loss to the Reds early when he developed a blister, Fedde came on in long relief and allowed four earned runs on five hits and two walks over three frames.

Impact Rather than expanding the rotation to six or demoting struggling rookie Noah Schultz to the minors, the White Sox will instead send Fedde to the bullpen to keep a five-man starting staff intact. Fedde had been part of the rotation all season, but he's already made 10 of his 22 appearances out of the bullpen while the White Sox have frequently deployed him in bulk relief behind an opener. The veteran righty has gone 6-6 with a 4.13 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 74:36 K:BB in 102.1 innings this season.

Collects sixth win of 2026 Fedde (6-6) earned the win against the Rays on Friday, allowing one run on four hits while striking out six across five innings. He did not issue a walk.
Impact Fedde generated only four whiffs and three groundouts on 91 pitches Friday, but he kept the Rays in check outside of a solo homer from Junior Caminero in the fourth inning. It was the first time since July 5 that Fedde completed five frames, and the veteran right-hander sports a 4.13 ERA and 1.37 WHIP over 102.1 innings this season. He's slated to take on the Red Sox next week at Fenway Park.

Tagged by three homers Fedde did not factor into the decision Sunday against the Astros, allowing three runs on five hits and one walk while striking out two over 4.1 innings.
Impact Fedde was hurt by the long ball Sunday, surrendering three home runs. Jeremy Pena took him deep twice, including a leadoff blast to begin the game, while Taylor Trammell added a solo shot of his own in the fifth inning. It marked the first time since May 12 that Fedde had allowed multiple home runs in a start. Following a 5.40 ERA and 0-5 record through his first 11 starts, Fedde has now gone 5-1 with a 2.93 ERA over his last 10 outings. He's scheduled to make his next start Friday on the road against the Rays.

Goes four frames Monday Fedde completed four innings in a no-decision against Texas on Monday, allowing two runs on four hits and no walks while striking out six batters.
Impact Though he didn't go very deep, Fedde was decently effective, racking up six punchouts and retiring the final eight batters he faced. The veteran right-hander has logged five or fewer frames in nine of his past 10 outings, but that approach seems to be working for him -- he's posted a 2.68 ERA while going 5-1 with a 35:15 K:BB across 43.2 innings during that span. Fedde has worked as both a traditional starter and a bulk reliever throughout the campaign, and though he doesn't have the most overpowering stuff, recent results suggest Chicago is getting the most out of the hurler by astutely managing how he is used.

Nabs win in bulk relief Fedde (5-6) picked up the win in Saturday's 1-0 victory over the A's, allowing two hits and one walk over four scoreless innings of relief. He struck out three.
Impact Entering the game to begin the third inning after opener Bryan Hudson and Chris Murphy had worked a frame each, Fedde kept the combined shutout going over 55 pitches (33 strikes). The veteran right-hander has found success in a sheltered bulk relief role, and since the beginning of June he's delivered a 2.27 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 26:12 K:BB through 35.2 innings over eight outings.

Likely to fill bulk-relief role Fedde is expected to work in bulk relief behind opening pitcher Bryan Hudson in Saturday's game against the Athletics, Brooke Fletcher of Chicago Sports Network reports.
Impact Fedde remains part of Chicago's rotation, but he's been used as a traditional starter just once in his last six outings. Hudson is expected to cover an inning or two before turning the game over to Fedde, who owns a 4.20 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 29:17 K:BB in 40.2 innings out of the bullpen this season.
