INJURIES

Tosses six hitless frames Monday Lauer (3-5) earned the win over Minnesota on Monday, allowing zero hits and issuing three walks while striking out two batters over six scoreless bulk-relief innings.
Impact Lauer had previously made two bulk-relief appearances this season, though both of those took place while he was with Toronto. After the southpaw started in each of his first four appearances since joining Los Angeles, the team elected to deploy him behind opener Will Klein against the Twins. That plan worked to perfection, as Lauer gave Los Angeles six sterling innings, allowing no hits and stranding all three batters he walked. It was far from an overpowering performance by the veteran hurler -- he notched just three whiffs and two punchouts -- but this was nonetheless his best performance of the campaign. Lauer posted a 6.69 ERA across 36.1 frames with the Blue Jays, but he's been much better since joining the Dodgers. Through five outings, he's registered a 2.54 ERA with a 16:8 K:BB over 28.1 innings while notching a 2-0 record.

Set for bulk-relief role Monday Lauer is expected to work in bulk relief behind opening pitcher Will Klein in Monday's game against the Twins, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
Impact As a starter this season between stops with Toronto and Los Angeles, Lauer has turned in a 5.14 ERA and 13:7 K:BB in 21 innings while facing hitters the first time through the order, so the Dodgers will look to generate better results from the lefty by sparing him from a matchup with the top of the Minnesota lineup to begin the game. Klein is expected to cover an inning or two before giving way to Lauer, who should have a better chance at coming away with a win while working in bulk relief.

Rebounds after rough beginning Lauer allowed three runs on six hits and three walks while striking out four batters over six innings in a no-decision against Tampa Bay on Monday.
Impact It initially looked like Lauer could be in for a bad evening, as he gave up two runs in the first inning and another in the second. However, the left hander was able to bounce back and keep the Rays off the scoreboard for the remainder of his outing. Lauer ended up with just his second quality start of the season, with his other such performance coming May 26 versus Colorado in his Dodgers debut. Lauer may not be a permanent part of Los Angeles' rotation, but with Blake Snell (elbow) and Tyler Glasnow (back) likely at least a month away from returning, he's pitched well enough to earn some leash as a starter. He lines up to make his next appearance in Minnesota.

Effective in no-decision Tuesday Lauer didn't factor into the decision in Tuesday's 12-3 rout of the Pirates, allowing two runs on three hits over 5.2 innings. He struck out five without walking a batter.
Impact Back-to-back solo homers by Bryan Reynolds and Ryan O'Hearn in the first inning put Lauer in danger of getting a quick hook, but the veteran southpaw kept his focus and stuck around until finally leaving the mound after 89 pitches (64 strikes) just shy of his second quality start of the season. Lauer has been outstanding since being scooped up by the Dodgers following a rough beginning to the year with the Blue Jays, delivering a 2.76 ERA, 0.86 WHIP and 10:2 K:BB in 16.1 innings over three starts. As long as he remains effective, he'll give Los Angeles little reason to promote a prospect like River Ryan, but Lauer's leash is likely short. He lines up to make his next start at home early next week against the Rays.

Dodgers play the Pirates after Rushing's 4-hit game

Does fine in Arizona Lauer allowed two runs on five hits and a walk while striking out one over 4.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.
Impact Lauer did fine, but he came up one out short of qualifying for the win. He threw 45 of 70 pitches for strikes in this outing. The southpaw has given up three runs over 10.2 innings in his two starts with the Dodgers so far, which is a positive sign that he can hold onto a rotation spot in the short term. He's at a 5.74 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 31:18 K:BB through 47 innings over 10 appearances (eight starts) between the Dodgers and the Blue Jays this season. Lauer is tentatively projected to make his next start on the road in Pittsburgh.
JUNE 3 • ROTOWIRE
Drawing another start Lauer is slated to start Tuesday's game against the Diamondbacks at Chase Field.
Impact Lauer will receive a second turn through the Dodgers' six-man rotation after a strong showing in his team debut a week ago. The southpaw took losses in five of his final seven appearances with the Blue Jays prior to being traded, but he scooped up a win in his first outing with the Dodgers, limiting the Rockies to one run on four hits and one walk while striking out four batters over six innings. Until the Dodgers get at least one of Tyler Glasnow (back) or Blake Snell (elbow) back from the injured list, Lauer should be able to hold down a rotation spot so long as he performs capably.

Wins team debut Lauer (2-5) allowed one run on four hits and a walk while striking out four over six innings to earn the win Tuesday over the Rockies.
Impact Lauer took advantage of a favorable matchup and submitted his first quality start of the season. He also picked up his first win since March 29 versus the Athletics. Lauer has pitched to a 5.95 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 30:17 K:BB through 42.1 innings over nine appearances (seven starts) between the Dodgers and the Blue Jays this season. Lauer looks to have a chance to stick in the Dodgers' six-man rotation, at least until Tyler Glasnow (back) returns, which is likely a couple of weeks away at a minimum. Lauer's next outing is tentatively projected to be on the road in Arizona.

Team debut coming Tuesday Lauer is slated to make his team debut in a start Tuesday against the Rockies at Dodger Stadium, Maddie Lee of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Impact Acquired from the Blue Jays last Sunday, Lauer went unused during his first week of the Dodgers but will move into the team's six-man rotation Tuesday after Los Angeles recently lost Blake Snell (elbow) to the injured list. After serving as a key depth piece in the rotation and bullpen for Toronto in 2025, Lauer was unable to replicate those results this season, posting a 6.69 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 26:16 K:BB across 36.1 innings in eight appearances (six starts) before being dealt to Los Angeles. The veteran southpaw will get a soft landing spot in his first appearance as a Dodger, facing off against a Rockies squad that entered Sunday ranking last in the majors with a 68 wRC+ against left-handed pitching.
