Placed on 10-day injured list The Dodgers placed Hernandez on the 10-day injured list Monday with left elbow inflammation.
Impact Manager Dave Roberts said it's an injury Hernandez has dealt with for about a month, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. Because the injury is to his non-throwing elbow, Hernandez would seem to have a good chance to return when first eligible at the start of the second half.

Slugs eighth homer Hernandez went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer Sunday's 5-1 win versus the Royals.
Impact The veteran utility man started at first base and gave the Dodgers a 2-1 lead when he took Kansas City starter Kris Bubic deep in the second inning. The long ball marked the first in June for Hernandez, who entered this contest with an anemic .119/.196/.167 slash line across 46 plate appearances in 23 games this month. Through 177 total plate appearances, the 33-year-old is slashing .206/.273/.388 with 23 runs scored and 22 RBI in a short-side platoon role.

Drawing start against lefty Hernandez will start in left field and bat seventh in Sunday's game against the Giants.
Impact The Dodgers are stocking up on some extra right-handed bats to counter Giants southpaw Kyle Harrison, so Hernandez will get the call in left field to fill in for the left-handed-hitting Michael Conforto. Hernandez will be making his first start since June 5, and the light playing time may in part explain why he's gone just 2-for-20 with 10 strikeouts so far this month.

Gets aboard five times in loss Hernandez went 2-for-2 with a solo home run, three walks and three total runs scored in Saturday's 11-9 loss to the Angels.
Impact Hernandez has three multi-hit efforts over his last nine games, going 10-for-27 (.370) with two homers in that span. The utility player had drawn just seven walks over 101 plate appearances prior to Saturday, with his three-walk performance in this contest helping to lift his on-base percentage from .270 to .305. He's added seven homers, 16 RBI, 16 runs scored, two doubles and no stolen bases over 36 contests this season.

Goes deep in high-scoring win Hernandez went 3-for-5 with a solo home run, an RBI double and three total runs scored in Friday's 14-11 win over the Diamondbacks.
Impact Hernandez started at third base against southpaw Eduardo Rodriguez in this contest. The 33-year-old Hernandez has a pair of multi-hit efforts in May, but he's struggling to find consistent playing time against right-handed pitchers. He's at a .215/.267/.468 slash line with six homers, 15 RBI, 12 runs scored, two doubles and no stolen bases over 87 plate appearances. Hernandez platoons with Max Muncy at third base, and he's also in the mix in the free-for-all for playing time at second base in the absence of Tommy Edman (ankle).

Smacks fourth homer Hernandez went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Tuesday's loss to Washington.
Impact Hernandez concluded the scoring in the contest with a solo shot to left field in the eighth inning. The utility man has taken on a prominent role in the Dodgers' lineup of late, as he's been starting at first base while Freddie Freeman has been on the injured list due to an ankle injury. Hernandez is batting a meager .111 on the season, but all four of his hits have left the park, and that has allowed him to rack up a healthy seven RBI over 39 plate appearances.
APRIL 9 • ROTOWIRE
Homers in win Hernandez went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Phillies.
Impact Hernandez gave the Dodgers a 2-1 lead with a two-run shot off Aaron Nola in the second inning. The 33-year-old is just 3-for-26 on the season, but all three hits have been home runs. He's started five straight games at first base since Freddie Freeman (ankle) was placed on the injured list, though he's unlikely to remain a factor upon Freeman's return.
APRIL 5 • ROTOWIRE
Homers in start Hernandez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run against Atlanta in a 6-1 victory Monday.
Impact Freddie Freeman missed the game due to an ankle injury, giving Hernandez an opportunity to start at first base. The latter took advantage of the playing time, belting a solo blast to left field in the sixth inning. If Freeman misses additional time, Hernandez could be in line for more starts. He's gone just 2-for-12 at the plate so far this season, but both of his hits have been homers.
APRIL 1 • ROTOWIRE
Slotting in at first base Hernandez will start at first base and bat eighth Monday against Atlanta, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Impact Hernandez is in line for his first start since the Tokyo Series against the Cubs, and it'll come as a result of an ankle injury to Freddie Freeman. Hernandez figures to be the likely candidate to fill in at first base until Freeman is cleared for play, though given the Dodgers' extensive depth, Muncy could also get a look at first, meaning Hernandez or Chris Taylor would presumably bump over to the hot corner.
MARCH 31 • ROTOWIRE
Available Saturday Hernandez (illness) is not in the Dodgers' starting lineup but is available off the bench for Saturday's game against Detroit, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Impact Hernandez didn't play in the first two games of the series while battling the flu. It appears the utility man has recovered from the ailment and will be available out of the dugout for Saturday's finale.
MARCH 29 • ROTOWIRE
Might be available Friday Hernandez (illness) won't start but could be available off the bench Friday against the Tigers, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
Impact Hernandez is dealing with the flu and was not at the ballpark for Thursday's domestic home opener against the Tigers. His exact availability remains to be seen, though it sounds as if he is nearing a return to the club.
MARCH 28 • ROTOWIRE
Battling flu Hernandez is not expected to be available for the Dodgers' domestic opener Thursday against the Tigers due to the flu, Buster Olney of ESPN reports.
Impact Hernandez is not in the lineup versus lefty Tarik Skubal and it sounds like he probably won't be available off the bench, either. Consider the utility player day-to-day.
MARCH 27 • ROTOWIRE
Powers offense with three RBI Hernandez went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer and a sacrifice fly during Wednesday's 6-3 win against the Cubs in Tokyo.
Impact Hernandez doubled Los Angeles' lead to 2-0 during the second inning with a sacrifice fly and provided some insurance runs with a two-run blast off Justin Steele in the fourth. The super-utility man started both games at first base in Tokyo with Freddie Freeman (ribs) banged up, but Hernandez is likely to be more of a semi-regular presence in the lineup when the Dodgers are at full strength.

MARCH 19 • NEWSOBSERVER.COM
Manning left field in opener Hernandez will start in left field and bat sixth in Tuesday's regular-season opener against the Cubs in Tokyo.
Impact The beloved clubhouse presence and valued utility man returned to the Dodgers on a one-year deal in February, and he is in the lineup for the opener with lefty Shota Imanaga on the mound for Chicago. Hernandez has a career .789 OPS against left-handed pitching compared to a career .664 OPS against right-handed pitching. With that, the 33-year-old is expected to remain limited to short-side duty for the most part throughout 2025.
