Enmanuel De Jesús - MLB News, Rumors, & Updates

Sent to Triple-A The Tigers optioned De Jesus to Triple-A Toledo on Sunday.

Impact De Jesus has been a decent bullpen option for Detroit this year with a 3.83 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 39:15 K:BB across 42.1 innings, though he's been a bit shakier over his past six outings with four earned runs allowed. Andrew Sears will take his spot in the bullpen and is poised to work in bulk relief Sunday against the Royals.

Sent to Triple-A The Tigers optioned De Jesus to Triple-A Toledo on Sunday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Impact De Jesus hasn't given up a run in his past eight appearances (13 innings), but he'll still end up being the odd man out for a roster spot since Jack Flaherty (ankle) is coming off the IL to start Sunday. De Jesus should get another look in the majors before long given his recent form.

Looks sharp in long outing De Jesus pitched four scoreless innings of relief in Tuesday's 8-0 win over the Rays. He didn't allow any hits or walks while striking out four.

Impact Jack Flaherty started the game with five scoreless innings of his own to finally earn his first win of the year, but De Jesus still looked excellent in his longest outing of the season, and he needed only 35 pitches to cruise through his four perfect frames. The lefty lowered his ERA nearly a whole run from 5.91 down to 4.97, and he's up to 25 strikeouts across 25.1 innings. De Jesus could earn more opportunities in a long relief role due to his effectiveness Tuesday.

Earns win in relief Sunday De Jesus (2-0) earned the win Sunday against the Royals. He allowed no hits or walks while striking out one over 2.1 perfect innings.

Impact De Jesus was the fourth arm called upon in the Tigers' bullpen game and retired all seven batters he faced en route to earning the win. The southpaw's overall numbers -- a 6.43 ERA, 1.93 WHIP and 15:8 K:BB across 14 innings -- remain rough, though he has now turned in back-to-back scoreless outings. Much of the damage to his season line came during a disastrous appearance against the Brewers on April 21, when the 29-year-old allowed seven runs (five earned) across 1.1 innings.

Optioned to Triple-A The Tigers optioned De Jesus to Triple-A Toledo on Wednesday, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Impact De Jesus was hammered for seven runs (five earned) while throwing 49 pitches over 1.1 innings in an ugly relief outing Tuesday versus the Brewers. He will be replaced on the roster and in the bullpen by Burch Smith.

APRIL 22 • ROTOWIRE

Hit hard Tuesday De Jesus allowed seven runs (five earned) on seven hits and two walks across 1.1 innings of relief in Tuesday's 12-4 loss to the Brewers.

Impact De Jesus came on after 5.2 innings from starter Keider Montero and with Detroit trailing 3-1. The lefty reliever quickly let things unravel as he saw his ERA nearly double from 5.40 to an unsightly 10.13, and it would have been worse if not for the unearned runs. De Jesus has nine strikeouts across eight innings this year, which is encouraging, but he's otherwise been ineffective, and he doesn't currently have a ton of fantasy value in his role out of the Tigers' bullpen.

APRIL 22 • ROTOWIRE

Earns first MLB win Friday De Jesus (1-0) worked around a hit to toss a scoreless inning of relief and earn the win in Friday's 5-2 victory over the Padres. He struck out two.

Impact After starter Framber Valdez covered six solid innings, De Jesus got the seventh and kept things rolling for the Detroit pitching staff. The lefty is back in the majors for the first time since a brief appearance in 2023, and his win in relief Friday marked his first ever at the MLB level. De Jesus looked good for Team Venezuela in the World Baseball Classic, and if he can carry over that success into the regular season, he could emerge as a trusted bullpen option for the Tigers in 2026.

Wins bullpen spot De Jesus will be included on the Tigers' Opening Day roster, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Impact The Tigers made their final cut of the spring Tuesday by sending Brenan Hanifee down to Triple-A, ensuring that De Jesus will be in the team's bullpen to begin the season. The 29-year-old was a non-roster invitee to spring training and turned heads while pitching nine innings without allowing an earned run in the Grapefruit League. He also gave up just one earned run and struck out 11 batters across 7.1 innings while representing Venezuela in the World Baseball Classic.

Likely to make team? De Jesus, who was recently added to Detroit's 40-man roster, seems likely to secure an Opening Day bullpen role, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.

Impact De Jesus looked good for Team Venezuela in the World Baseball Classic, and Detroit was impressed enough to add the non-roster invitee to its 40-man roster. That move seems to suggest that the 29-year-old lefty will ultimately make the Opening Day roster, though nothing has been made official yet. De Jesus pitched briefly in the majors back in 2023 and has spent the past few seasons in the Korea Baseball Organization.
